@LeandreN: are you gonna sell stabilizers on your website any time soon?
If I can get a good and reliable source I will definitely try to do that!

Build the set today.
All black  :thumb:
Black PCB, black plate, black switches, modified springs and lubed.
Typing so smoooooooooth

Now looking for a heavy steady alu  case, any recommendations?

I have indeed seen that one, but the shipping is a little pricey to the netherlands. and on Alieexpress they don't have the right color (black or silver)
Best would be like Duck or LZ

Okay. I don't know of any else unless you search "GH60" on Aliexpress.

Maybe check with Pexon, when they expect this case to be back in stock?
http://pexonpcs.co.uk/products/60-aluminium-case?variant=1061217031

I ordered it for my build, just waiting for my plate & PCB to arrive. Hopefully today...

Got mine today, really like the "personal touch" on the packaging :) It came a little bent though, but considering that the metal is so soft and bendable, that's fine. Placed it under a bunch of textbooks, can't wait to try some switches later on :)

Btw, I can open the switches mounted on this plate without desoldering, right?

Yes you can open the switches when soldered to the PCB and attached to the plate. Easy spring or led change  :thumb:

Not a reply from SPRiT this day.
I really expected him to contact me by now. It has been over a week.

He needed to send a lot of PCBs, and some parts.

I don't have the funds to refund everyone 100%, as the payments went to pay the supplier, freight, packaging material, taxes, more taxes and investments.

If you want me to ship out the order as it is, let me know.

If you want to wait for SPRiT, that's fine.

I can refund you (I feel obligated too), but I don't think that would be the best solution for me as of now. I can only refund the parts missing in that case.

This is a difficult case for me, and hopes aren't lost, I just feel like there has been a long delay.

I sincerely apologise,

LeandreN

In all my dealing with SPRiT he's been a reliable guy and as we all know unexpected events happen. I personally see no need to panic whatsoever and think we should just sit tight and await a response from him. Some of his earlier projects took longer then expected but he's never jumped ship as far as I know.

To be fair, it IS annoying when a subvendor is incommunicado. You're left hanging with no new timeframe, and customers wanting information you don't have. Very unprofessional of Sprit, even if he does good work. Taking half an hour each day to answer emails is something everyone should be able to do.

Yep, I know SPRiT for a long time, and even if there were some delays in the end he always delivers.

It's the "in the end" that's the problem. Waiting is not a problem when you know the timeframe, preferable ahead of time but you can adjust if things go wrong. Waiting for an indeterminate moment sucks though. Maybe GH'ers disagree, since a lot of stuff here seems to be done on rather long timetables  :)
Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I think that once money changes hands you are bound to deliver as soon as you can and provide updates to your customer. Clearly LeandreN is excellent at this. Sprit... maybe not so much.

So finally got mine together. I'll post pictures tonight.. but some tips from captain obvious..

-Don't solder until you know your stabilizers are on right :)
-Don't put your LED's in until you are happy with everything else
-Be careful snipping your LED leads..btw replacement SMD resistors seem to be 910 ohms..
-Buy a solder sucker, way easier than wick if you have to unsolder 60+ keys and LEDS

That information was already out there so we at least knew what we were potentially getting into. That's why I don't think anyone should ask for a refund either, even though LeandreN is very graceful to offer. Not at this point at least. We're all grown ups and if you did your research you knew there was a chance of delays.

These PCBs don't have side LEDs. It looks to me like he just ran the switch LEDs under the PCB and maybe bent them sideways for that effect:

yeah, SPRiT is a free radical. no telling when he will appear or disappear.

LeandreN, you have done great on your first GB lead. great communication. i personally appreciate the email updates also with a rolling spreadsheet. nice to see an OP as invested in communication as getting the product out. that's not always possible on larger group buys.
