Hrrm... Samsung's new monitor, 4k 360hz + 1080p 680hz dual mode.
This uses DSC, Tp4 doesn't understand why they couldn't go higher.
If they're gonna use DSC, they should be doing 4K 643hz, and 1080p 1352hz.
So mad right now. Why are they sandbagging this, JUST DO IT. It might need active cooling, so what?

I bought a litely used external 4TB Shield SSD for £150, now I could sell it on ebay for £500. Thing is, I need more SSD :(

The first demo-ed 1000hz 1080p moniotr, it's tiny and it's IPS, YUCK...
IPS is ok for the Office, but Tru G4mrz needs to have OLED burn-in for max motion clarity.
IPS GtG pixel response time is also not suitable for anything higher than 360hz. The motion clarity is about the same.
In principle if they can flash the backlight also at 1000hz, it might make up the difference, but they've yet to solve the Color crosstalk problem because of that slower GtG.
The other thing is, these monitors would need temperature stabilization and continuous compensation now, because the effective window for each backlight blink is much smaller. Yet, another technology aspect not even talked about.
They also didn't report the contrast ratio, suspects it's probably still crap.

I built a new computer last winter (when my 5 or 6 year-old rig died) and was absolutely appalled at the prices. Especially when Newegg sold me 2 motherboards in a row that were defective.
The other day I thought it would be nice to get a 2TB NAND but had to nix that idea. I wish that I could hope that the prices would come down in the foreseeable future, but I wonder ....
