In order to make our [wiki=Geekhack+WorldWide+Shopping+Links]WorldWide Shopping wiki[/wiki] even better, please share with us any experience (preferably good ones) you had with such mail forwarding services.
The format doesn't really matter, as long as you provide at least the url

As a reminder, said service is about buying things for you in USA and sending it to *your* country.
Obviously it gets useful when you really want something from a shop that doesn't ship internationally.

I'm not sure I understand what you meant....

If you're saying that those services might cost a bit, for some people it's worth getting something you can't find elsewhere (and that ships to your country) and/or cheaper (in comparison to some stores touching themselves on imports).

Shipping cost is not the point of this thread, though.
A long as we can provide a significant number of mail forwarders, it will be up to the buyer to figure out which one costs less.

I've done this personally for GH members in the past.

I would highly recommend leveraging geekhack members when you want something from another country.

You mean you've acted as a mail-forwarder, or you've used one of such services ?

It probably makes sense for a keyboard or such now and then, but it might be a hindrance to the potential forwarder if this becomes a habit.
Like, one day I need *that* special keyboard to be shipped, then one week later some rare wheel rim set, and... oh my, that refrigirator sure looks nice !
Well, you see what I mean :]

You can say no.  Seeing as how 'we' are not in the business of doing that sort of thing.  I have done it in the past and am not averse to doing it again.

Let me just haunt this very old thread

After seeing someone mention shipito on a massdrop discussion, I really started considering utilising the service, are there any international forum members with related experiences?

(Mainly to be able to buy random stuff from Amazon, and there is a strange customs rule in my country, which prohibits 5+ imports yearly, very absurd, not utilised, yet scary)
