Opened up and found my dream set: Sanctuary!  Thank you so much suicidal_orange!  I have been wanting this set since I first saw it and am truly blown away.

Truth be told, it wasn't 100% a surprise since massdrop had to step in and ruin it by posting the sanctuary buy so suicidal had to pm me and tell me not to buy in.  It was still a huge surprise to even be told and then to open it up and see it for the first time, so awesome!
Thank you again suicidal_orange, I am super stoked.

Thank you again suicidal_orange, I am super stoked.

So much for "signed for" shipping!  Glad it arrived safely, looking forward to seeing it on a board :)

And please excuse my handwriting, I was going to bring home a nice pen from work but the set arrived early and I wanted to send it on ASAP so used the scratchy CD marker usually reserved for waterproof addresses.  Now the whole world has seen my impatience :-[

Huh, I thought your handwriting looked good.  I have received packages with such poor writing that I am amazed they even found me.

I will have it on my QFR as soon as I fix the switch for the \| key.  SoonTM

Figured I might as well crosspost this as it may be confusing for people since both threads have "Pay It Forward" in the title.

At least one of my PIF packages has been received:  https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34585.msg1879806#msg1879806  :)

Got this awesome keychain from SpAmRaY:

It's a 3D-printed switch holder keychain thing. The switch is a Gateron housing with a Cherry MX clear stem & spring, and the cap is a see-thru red and white doubleshot. Thanks, Spam!

Time to go on the hunt for my PIF victim...bwahaha!

hey guys

tomorrow i am sending 10 packages out to 10 random users (well kinda random, people i have addresses for, which is a pretty huge amount with ctrl alt)

Show Image

each package contains a little something, ranging from a bro cap to a keyboard to keychains, all kindsa bits really

inside each package will be a little note from me, saying pay it forward

these packages are totally unsolicited, so nobody is under any obligation to play along, so if you choose not to continue the chain, please enjoy your gift

if however you would like to play along, please send a little something to one to three more users, with a little note saying pay it forward within the package

i am starting by sending 10 out in the hopes its enough to get this going

please feel free to use this thread as a hub, to post pics etc, and if anyone would like to send packages anonymously, and dont have addresses for certain users, please contact me and ill see what i can do

thanks
This inspires me to do great things. I'm glad that you are doing great things for the community  :thumb:

This post is woefully late because well, life . . . BUT!!!! I was the lucky recipient of BadWrench's awesome generosity and love. That week, I was having an especially rough time at work and was pretty much as stressed out as I've ever been at my job. Suddenly I get a random message from BadWrench telling me that I had a package. I raced downstairs to my mailroom and since it was Monday, the weekend mail and not been sorted. So together the mail guy and I unearth this mysterious package and I race back to my desk to open it.

HOLY

FREAKIN

*(&(^%%!!!!!!

BadWrench, through whatever voodoo/psychic power he possesses, knew I had been on the never-ending search for a Binge keythulu. So, he ended my quest by fullfilling one of my dreams at GH. He sent me Keythulu. And it wasn't just any Keythulu, it was one of Binge's firsts.

Not only that, he also sent me a plethora of other awesome goodies such as a HKP warmaster and a GH pack from Techkeys. OH, and also this super awesome TRON Christmas ornament. Because he's an awesome fellow.

Words cannot describe the feeling of disbelief, amazement, and wonder that such a random act of (personal) kindness was bequeathed upon me. As a female working in STEM, I've had to fight tooth, nail, and claw to get to where I am. I'm not used to simply asking for what I want and getting it, and this really made me stop and contemplate the things going on around me. I was able to realize that whatever work **** I had going on ultimately didn't matter because in the end, all that matters is our relationships with each other. How if we treat each other with kindness, we'd all be in a better place.

So, here are some pics of my Pay It Forward package from Badwrench. Thank you my friend, you really are one of the good guys and you made that week so much better. Truly, I cannot tell you how much it meant to me. <3
