Hi erveyone,
The IC restarts now, I haven't gived up this design, I want to make it happen.
I'm going to keep updating the drawings until the group buy starts one day!

Kits update:
1. Alphas
Show Image

2. Frozen Alphas
Show Image

3. TKL Adapter
Show Image

This is really good news, I am anxiously waiting for this set ...

I have no preference between the two alpha kits, I would take them both

P.S. but has anything changed compared to the original idea?

I'm happy to see news on this.

I like both alphas, especially the frozen alphas. The WFK white is a great color.

Neat. I'd personally prefer the alphas over the frozen alphas -- I think there's enough sets out there that do the usual high-contrast stark light alpha/dark modifier combination.

I too like the alphas over the frozen alphas. I would say keep it with a cool color pallet. Do you know what will be the estimated cost of this set?

Thanks! Alphas' cool tone color is my initial inspiration of this design. I love it very much.
The cost of Mechanist will be similar to those popular SA key sets I think.

This is an instant buy for me as long as I can have a 1.75 Control key.  Based on all the sketches / renders, it won't be a problem.

Any estimate as to when this will be available?

I'm still fairly new to the hobby, but is there a reason as to why a 1.75U control key is important? And which one of the kits will contain a 1.75U control key?

HHKB layout users are used to use 1.75U Control on caps lock's position.

A large proportion of individuals like to have R3 control instead of capslock due to the infrequent use of capslock. Although its not necessary to have correct legends to do this, it is still nice for individuals who want correct legends.
+1

Many early terminals had Control where IBM PC put CapsLock, and HHKB stays faithful to that (plus less strain on the left little finger, often the weakest.)

My personal preference for CapsLock key is just BBQ IT AND DON'T LET PPL SHOUT IN ALL CAPS!  :-)

Can we still expect to see other kits, such as the Ergodox kit and the novelty kit? Or is the new "updated kits" list the only kits being offered. Would really suck to have waited over a year for this gb to even start only to have it stripped down to the basics.

Could you add a 1U R3 Fn key to the non-standard kit?  That's used in the bottom row of some 65% layouts (Tada68, most Whitefox layouts).

I would love a set like this! Sign me up! I like the regular alphas better than the frozen, as my current white-ish color keycaps get really dirty in finger oils/residue and I think they look better.

Maybe I made a mistake of that R3 Enter key.
But honestly, I'm not very familiar with the recent 40% keyboards, if you have any advice, please let me know.

That key seems like a FN or layer change function key. Maybe you can use a 1.25u novelty to adapt it.

Oh yeah, you're right. Hmm, in that case the smallest actual space bar I've seen is 2u on ortho keebs or 40% keebs.

Actually the smallest space "bar" is the 1u key on a grid planck. :)
In my case the 1.25u blank is actually my space key, but that's my custom layout so I don't expect it to be supported.
The 1.25u novelty would work just as well for my purposes.

Hi erveyone,
The IC restarts now, I haven't gived up this design, I want to make it happen.
I'm going to keep updating the drawings until the group buy starts one day!

Kits update:
1. Alphas

2. Frozen Alphas

3. TKL Adapter

This is really good news, I am anxiously waiting for this set ...

I have no preference between the two alpha kits, I would take them both

P.S. but has anything changed compared to the original idea?

KMK Labs.

Thanks, basically not that much change I think, just add several keys to match new keyboards such as FC980, UHK ....so on!

Has support for the Ultimate Hacking Keyboard been added already? Would be nice to have a blank/novelty R1 1.5u key for the UHK's backspace, as the only compatible ones in terms of size and profile are the Ergodox's =+ or -_ keys, which would lead to an incorrect (and repeated) legend on the UHK.

Since I haven't got my UHK, I can't tell which special keys need to be added. Do you have a UHK layout map?

I'm cosidering  changing the Ergo kit with all blank keys, because every Ergo users always  their own key layout,  actual legends make no sence for them. 1.5u R1 blank keys are not a problem if the Ergo kit are all blanks.

Make it two R1 1.5u keys and there will be support for Race 3 as well.

Yup, there's this handy page on the official website:
