If that means that this Geekhack 60% Nostalgia set can use the Cherry legends, I say go for it!

Do not want to derail, but rather help this thread.

The Cherry Replica GB will open this week, and the set will compliment this set quite well.

It will be WHITE alphas with ORANGE POLY (Translucent) legends and ORANGE mods with WHITE legends.

Hashbaz is the keeper of the cherry so I would defer to him.

Personally I think it makes sense to run 1 set first to make sure everything comes out right, before running others.

Do you plan on using the same orange as this GB?

If yes, this would be awesome to mix and match and be lots of fun!

I say we go for Cherry font if possible.

It is not - that is coming soon.

So the replica is just for the font not profile right?

Signature Plastics' "DCS" profile is very close to Cherry profile, except for the bottom row, which is a bit more angled with the SP keys than with original Cherry.

Also, the mods will be poly orange, too, right?

No mods are going to be polycarbonate, neither in this GB, nor in the Nathan's set GB. Mods for this set will be ABS plastic, SP color code OAS.

Ok. Don't want to confuse anyone jumping on this thread now and reading these comments.

They might confuse this GB with one that didn't exist yet.

Sorry.

I think it would be cool if they both used the same shade of orange/profile so that you could mix and match in the future if you wanted :)

I will buy all the things I put in my list.

Also as a side note there is no reason that at a later date someone else couldn't run a nav pack group buy to match this set. Just saying.

yeah it would be super simple as an add on if people were so inclined

im hoping to get this gb on a positive note shortly, perhaps i am a bit close to it and bias, but i was very excited about this one

Sure, a nav pack could be easily done later, but what would be the difference except everybody interested had to pay shipping twice. I don't like spending an extra 15$ for nothing...

@ Bunny:

Why do you think your new GB isn't on a positive note?

Everybody in this thread is really excited about it and loves the color scheme and everything. It's just we are all enthusiasts and want the absolute best set available for us ;)

People asking for options doesn't mean they don't appreciate your efforts! This happens in every GB so don't take it personally - I think everybody agrees that you ran some awesome GBs in the last months and this will be the next superb one  :thumb:

Is it possible to have the mini keyboard under the 60 in the GH60 logo? If not, I think it would look better if 60 in the GH60 was the same size as the GH.

Bunny, that mockup looks slick with those Cherry legends. :)

I usually love WYSE legends, but in this case, I think the contrast is needed, and it would definitely be worth using the Cherry legends. Similar to how the Toxic set needs the contrast.

The only 60% keyboard I have is HHKB, and I am STILL tempted to get this.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Every time I decide I'm going to "chill with my spending this month", something like this pops up. Its usually something on GH, and lately its been thanks to bunny. Overly productive Bastard!!!

The only 60% keyboard I have is HHKB, and I am STILL tempted to get this.

Lot's of tape and some glue?  :p

Or the sacrifice of another set, and hours with a knife and some glue.

Except I don't have a Thorpe set to sacrifice, except the ones that are on the board now.

I see no problem there :P
