Hey everyone! We're just at the end of week 1 of GMK Metaverse 2. Our expectations have been absolutely shattered. MOQ was passed up in under 2 days and now we're on track for promising further sales!

At the moment, we are at about 500 sets sold. We're absolutely thrilled with the amount of sets sold, and going futher I've planned out another MOQ for the set, with extra caps being included upon hitting it.

At 600 sets sold, we'll be adding a down arrow caps lock, both stepped and unstepped. I know this was a hot button issue for many during the IC process so I'd like to make both sides happy.

Please leave some feedback as to what we could add if we approach 1000 base sets sold.

I'm thinking maybe an extra B, but I'm not sure how many alice layouts are out there. Also suggested was a set of white f5-f8 keys. If you support either of these ideas, let me know!

If an extra B key is added to base I'll probably sell my R1 base kit to buy R2 base + royal. Already planning on picking up novelties/spacebars.

After careful consideration I will most likely be adding an extra B key to base at 600. The 2 down arrow caps locks will also be added at 600. At 1000, if we hit it, I will be adding a white f5-f8.

The GMK Metaverse GB is going fairly strong! We've hit the mid-GB hump that most buys face, and even then our numbers are fairly strong. We've got just under 2 weeks to go, and here are our current numbers

Hey all, Bryan here. Spam week starts now. I apologize in advance.

We're approaching the final week of GMK Metaverse 2!

Here are our current numbers:

Base: 901
Novelties: 588
Royal: 482
Spacebars: 372

The group buy's done exceedingly well. Dave and I are thrilled to be able to have sold these high of numbers and we hope to keep the train going, so as we take one last hurrah into the final week, I'll make a small, maybe inconsequential announcement.

At 1000 base, we will be adding a white F5-F8. However, it's gotten to a point where I can confidently say those will be in the kit, regardless of how many more sets are sold. I'll just buy the rest out. I know some people were holding off on buying until those keys were confirmed, so I'll go ahead and add some extra security to the situation in saying that the white F5-F8 will definitely be in the base kit now.

If you want to secure a base kit, buy from dailyclack.com.au - they ship internationally, you will just have to wait a little longer as the kits will go to Australia then to whatever you are (they still have base kits and spacebar kits for preorder)

Update: July 12

We are still looking at a mid to late august shipping date.

Today, 80 base kits, 30 spacebar kits, 30 royal kits, and 35 novelties kits that were owned by Dead Encryption were sold on switchmod.net as preorders. Despite only having been announced on discord, the sets sold out within 3 hours.

As for on hand extras, here is how they will be sold.

After the group buy has shipped and a bit of time has passed for orders to be adequately serviced, I have divided the sets up into 10 portions.

Every day, for 10 days in a row, a single portion of the sets will be sold.

I will announce when the first extras sale is live, only on my discord. If you're interested make sure you join my discord and obtain the metaverse & keycap roles.

I will not announce the other 9, but if you figure out the patterning you can figure out what time the extras will be live the next day.

On the 10th, we got an email with a revised shipment date of September 23 to September 25. This puts our shipdate at mid-october.

This lines up fairly well with our estimates, as our first shipping estimates were given right as COVID-19 hit and no one really knew how bad it'd get.

At the moment we have found that there are issues with several of GMK Metaverse 2's keys. The extent of these issues is unknown but we can only assume at this time that it affects all sets. The row 2 alphas (the Q row) keys are a different texture than the rest of the set. This can be seen under the right lighting and angle, as well as some small textural differences in the feel of the cap itself.

Additionally, this numberpad 5 key has a deformed legend on some reported sets. We do not know the extent of this issue but have filed for replacements of this key as well.

If your row 2 alphas (including the number pad keys) or number pad 5 key from the GMK Metaverse 2 group buy show these issues, you may submit this form for GMK to review. Upon review, they will decide if you are eligible for replacements.

Submitting this form does not guarantee replacement, as that is judged by GMK and not the individual vendors.

This form exists only for those who purchased their sets from Switchmod.net, Mykeyboard.eu, Dailyclack.com, and Deskhero.ca.

Any sets purchased on the aftermarket are not eligible for replacement.

This form will be open for three weeks, with photo guidelines and information requests inside the form for additional verification. Just received my set! R2 does seem to have the different finish compared to the rest of the set. Though it does not bother me -and I could only tell under harsh light- I filled out the google form anyways. I can see how R2 being inconsistent from the rest of the set would be a reason of concern. My numpad 5 key did not have any discernible difference in finish from the rest of the set.

I didn't think anyone would be..?

Pretty sure the process was:

1. We fill out the form with supporting photos as per instruction
2. Krelbit submits the response data to GMK
3. GMK check each response and decide whether they will replace or not.
4. GMK send the replacements to krelbit (presumably updating the form response spreadsheet as to which ones will/won't receive replacement)
5. Krelbit distributes them to whoever GMK decided to provide replacements for

I don't think there's any back and forth in the process. We just wait to see what the outcome is.

This is only what I took away from the information leading up to the form submission so someone else may know otherwise.
