Title: Recommend an office air freshener
Post by: SpAmRaY on Wed, 13 August 2014, 16:03:47
Anyone have a favorite air freshener or maybe some non-standard ideas for keeping it fresh?

My office doesn't always stink but lets be real here it doesn't smell that great either, it needs some help!

How big is your office? Just one big room?

If so, do you have furniture that would soak in smoke/other scents? If not, incense (nag champa) is my favorite option.

If so, check out NASA's list of air filtering plants. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASA_Clean_Air_Study#Chart_of_air-filtering_plants)

My office is ~ 10' x 10' and the only thing I could think of that might absorb smell is the faux leather chairs.

Traditional air fresheners, candles, and incense can get overwhelming without any air moving through the room from my experience.

I did have a pair of mother-in-law's tongues in my room/office for a while:

The only reason they're not still in my office is I need to replant them in some fresh soil. Cleaner air/10 would recommend.

As both a hermit, pet owner, and pot-head I have found a combination of an Ionic Breeze Quadra and Fabreeze Air Effects Allergen Reducer spray to be nearly as effective as almost not having body odor, a cat, and 420BLAZEIT.

I have always been a candle guy, but Scentsy is a great way to go.  I have 2 larger warmers and a wall warmer.  They have an entire collection of "manly" scents.

You can get them cheap on ebay.

Years ago I sold industrial supplies and enzyme-based odor removers were more effective than anything else.

We had a liquid that you could dilute and just spray a light mist into the air, and it worked wonders.

I just use that, automatically sprays every so often.
Ozium works great also, but it's a bit pricey if you use it a lot.

For me, anything with Lavender = instant migraine though it may only be from synthetic Lavender scent I haven't tested don't want to risk it.

If you have sun, I would just get some Arabian Jasmine, Rosemary, Thyme, Cuban Oregano, Scented Geraniums, Citrus plants, Orange Jessamine, scented Corsage or Oncidium Orchid, Sweet Bay, Gardenia Augusta, Stephanotis... nothing beats some natural plants that kick out some nice aroma.

I should also mention I have no windows in my office. :(

Thanks for all the suggestions so far!

A few of those can survive well enough if you use some grow lights.

I just bought some Sex Wax air fresheners for my car. They are the ****.

I guess you could hang them from door handles? IDK.

Treefrog Squash car air freshener. I usually keep one in my b3droom (which is 24 x 8) and it smells pretty good for about 6 weeks
