Sorry to hear that.

People cope with major life events in different ways and I think it's important to remember that.

Personal problems isn't an excuse, but more of an indication that things aren't okay personally.

I don't think either of us are looking for pity though.

You're right, I don't think we're looking for pity and I do hope everything sorts itself on your end.

The message I intended to convey was just that it's important to remember the 'real world' doesn't much care about things like personal loss. Time doesn't stop and deadlines don't often move. That's all.

What does that even mean? 'Real world' is the output of a company or some group of people/machines, yea personal stuff doesn't have much effect.
If you are a freelancer and are sick or have some other reason that keeps you from working efficiently there are no other people that will help out with the stuff you are responsible for.

Which season of the Real World are we talking about? Vegas, NY, Seattle, Austin? I would argue that certain seasons do not care about personal loss but then other seasons do and cast members have to pick up the slack when times get tough.

In all seriousness, the thread seems to be getting a bit derailed. Hopefully we will see some movement on these boards soon.

xondat. I have attempted to PM you a couple times about this. I guess the Cerakote is not happening? So can you send me the unfinished board? This buy has gone on for far too long for no real reason. It seems you are perpetual waiting for parts or something. I don't know, I don't care. Just send me my board, please. I think we have been more than patient.

Thanks for the update.  Do you have prospective manuf yet or will it be a long delay?  I assume the new manuf will be anodizing my 268, yes?

I have a manufacturer I want to work with and should shortly get the samples. I think it'll be another couple of weeks but they've missed deadlines before in favor of improving quality.

Not really. I need to print 3 more labels (which includes cross checking payments, checking addresses etc.) of the 8 I'm sending next, and then get them to DHL.

Thanks, I'll let xondat reply here with an official statement, but the gist of his response in discord is: he's waiting for someone to PM him about their 268 order, if they don't respond soon (by the weekend that just passed), he'll proceed without them.

What's the status of cerakote? Can I get it sent over raw?

I'm shortly receiving some anodized parts from a different factory so I think it'd be wise to wait for that and then go with the better one. I can send it raw if you'd like.

I'll be happy to wait and see what you've got in mind. Thank you :)

Edit: do you have a general timeframe for this so I can set my expectations?

I sent payment on the 14th and lead time is "10 days" - that'd place it around the 28th, but as always they take a little longer. It's a fairly simple design so I can't see it being problematic.

Another screw snapped when someone was building their board (they got it out). It was a new top piece, which means the screws are ****.

I was going to ship a few this weekend but I'm no longer comfortable with the quality of the screws, so I'll be replacing them. I know of some proven screws, however they're on amazon.com so I'd have to use a proxy, which will take longer. This doesn't really affect anyone but the following:

smittysteve
cortz
jeffbolton
ihalatch

If you want the board shipped without screws, please let me know, otherwise I'm going to wait for the new ones.

Yes, I should've realized the screws were bad a long time ago, but we're here now and I can only say I'm sorry for it.

About screw threads, I've finished tapping a production piece and I'm about 80% confident it's good, however there is no way I'm putting the crap screws I have in, so will test with the new ones and hope all is good.

#$%*, I'll wait for the new screws. It's been a long wait another week or two is ok with me.

Just want to add, I received and built mine.

The screws that were included were trash bc they were flathead, but they were also too long for the case/threads.  This was the case for all screws, even the screws that secured the plate.  I went with hex screws that were about half the length.

Just an FYI for those of you that may run into problems later.

This was with a new top btw.

Thanks for the update. Sent you a message on Discord with a couple of questions... think I still need mine shipped now- I have colors ordered and time booked at the cerakote shop I like in San Jose.
