Upgraded to 8GB of RAM, a GT 210 is coming for HDMI out and XBMC, Highpoint RocketRaid 2680SGL is on it's way for RAID 5, looking for a good deal on 4x2TB drives as well!

What's this all for you might be wondering - SFTP/XBMC/Media Storage + Backups :)

N40L?  My N36L hasn't missed a beat for more than a year now.  Small, quiet, power-efficient.  The only complaint is that you have to virtually disassemble most of it to upgrade the RAM.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hate when that happens. I bought myself something for Christmas, and then it ended up going down in price by $20 a week later -__-

snap, and i used the link you provided in that other thread to buy it from amazon  :( its in the mail......oh well...bummer

sooo got in the mail today a Soldapullt, another thing i picked up based on suggestion :D, but when i got it I realized i selected the wrong one to purchase, i got in the deluxe one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019V5HRA, thing is as big as my poker and for a second i was angry then i decided to use it and man it rocks, removed everything off my poker in less than hour, first time de-soldering with it, hurts less to use than the $12 de-soldering iron i picked up at radio-shack which hurts my hand after a few switches.

edit: looks like i did pick the right one, i just was just dumb and did not see how big it was before buying it

Yeh It's the N40L, in regards to upgrading it the RAM it's pretty easy on the N40L, there's two little thumb screws at the front of the motherboard, unscrew those and unplug the IO/SAS/Power cables and it slides right on out - I dont know how different that is to the N36L...

Pretty much the same, except some of the cables are awkward to unplug (with my big fingers), and the braided cable running around the front was wedge between the PCB and the case, which stopped the case from coming out until I noticed.

Ohhhhh... Well i'm living in hope until it arrives then, hopefully as i'm only going to be using it with windows and a fairly simply RAID setup I should have a little luck!

Blue Switch Poker with 62g springs, stickered and lubed
61 New Green Switches
2x Premium Silver Silica Cables (6ft each) ( These are fantabulous!)

I see you have a spare Beast plate! Will you be using it on another Poker or could you spare one by any chance?

My signature hasn't changed since 2012. I should really update it.

finally got my rosewill keyboard in from the $25 deal, took more than a week because the package got misplaced

You know it is a little bit of a shame i am going to tear this board apart, is actually a better made board than i thought it would be, its very solid. actually this is my first mx board that has a plate and compared to the poker and race it is a huge difference! now i wish my poker or race had a plate  :( and i actually don't hate the reds, typing on them now. but on the other hand i don't like full size keyboards.

maybe i should give this to someone like my wife, or just say the hell with it and tear this thing apart as planned.
