Definitely looking forward to this.  Eventually I'll just sell my body to afford all these GBs :p

Oh man, I was set on getting matte black. But having also got Hydro and seeing that there will be a hydro themed case makes me question it!

I am definitely down for this, an aluminum base option would put this over the top.

Ah but you'd lose the underglow.

Is that something you'd prefer ? :O

We're checking with the manufacturer regarding aluminum bases (does not support underglow).

The price will be changed with the aluminum, and we have to be requoted for everything since this is a complex group buy.

i.e. 5 Anodization Options, 2 Base Material Options, etc.

In any case, tracking for one sample has been given, and the other is expected to ship tomorrow.

With the year coming to a close, I think it's safe to say we'll launch this in 2017 in January. I don't want to bog down the Holiday season and all with a GB.

The GB will be run on Google Docs.

Lastly, I'm working on the brass design. We'll have 2. 1 for the memers with a Harambae Sketch & 1 that is classical. Pricing will vary with this as well.

To clarify: I mean the brass design for the etching :P. Of course, I'll talk to Rama about it & make sure he signs off on it haha.

I'm willing to bet an aluminum base would be just as popular as the nylon, the whole glowing keyboard thing isn't really my taste... also I think it would be more inline with the M10.

Thank you for considering this :)

Hype. That's pretty sweet. If you DO offer an Alu base, can you consider maybe offering both bases with one kit? Harambae would be pleased. I understand this probably complicates things but worth an ask!

Glad you are waiting til the new  year.. My wallet has a gaping black hole that is sucking my money away until after Christmas.

Isn't this project meant to be an affordable custom?!

You guys are asking to make it more expensive and more generic looking with a metal bottom.

Stick with the Nylon. It looks great and fits with the M4-A  ;)

Or February, man. There's no rush at all when it comes to wallet recovery. :P

Something that I was thinking would be way cool when it comes to the brass design is two extra brass inserts (with appropriate room for rubber insertion) instead of the 'feet' the keyboard currently has! It would add so much more weight to the keyboard and a unique as all hell bottom aesthetic.

I'd prefer an aluminum bottom as well. I like the nylon bottom, but don't care about underglow and the aluminum just looks better IMO. Also I don't mind the extra price that'd go along with full aluminum, but I know that might be a breaking point for some.

Nylon will definitely make the board more affordable, so I'll have to review the option since making it aluminum drives up the shipping costs + production costs a lot.

I hear the concerns, and I'll try my best to meet the targeted price points despite making changes :). I want to be able to provide the options that people want without compromising the price too much.

I think a good target would be $180 excluding PCB and shipping for how many ever want to join. Aluminum base is being discussed, but that drives up the cost of shipping + per unit pricing.

Also, we changed the brass to be PVD coating to make it stronger. This was a suggestion by Rama and the manufacturer since the regular plating would scratch more easily.

Lastly, I just got tracking for the sample. the other one ships later today to me as well. I think we'll have photos up by next week. Hype!

More to come next week when everything is in my hands. I think we'll be ready for a January GB.

Nylon is definitely my go to.

Also, to answer a question above: no we won't have the option to get both bottoms.

I trust your vision, jchan! I was drawn to this buy b/c of RAMA's kickass design, and I'll bet I'm not the only one. This case super unique compared to the other high profile "end game" alu cases out there. Give us too many options/choice here and we'll quickly turn into "clients from hell."  ;)

Nylon, Hydro, Alu, whatever you want, go for it! If this IC is any indication, the buyers will still be here.  :thumb:

I would like all aluminum better (for a better visual pairing with the RAMA M10-A), but the nylon looks great as well.

Tracking for BOTH samples have been given.

One arrives Friday, I think the other is coming to me on Monday or Tuesday.

We'll have photos up  then to compare the two and I'm prepping all the logistics for the group buy to launch in January. Hope everyone is hyped!

You have no idea. Glad there'll be a bit of a breather too between the Christmas frenzy and the buy launching, makes it easier for a lot of us! In regards to the bottom material I'm glad you're pondering offering both nylon as well as aluminium - I'd be tempted to go for alu to match the M10 especially but I also want to try under glow as I like the idea of it even though I've never been a fan of leds on keys.

PS: Super excited to see all the samples!

Ah yes. RAMA has mentioned that I'm crazy for offering SKUs, but I want people to make the board they want.

Finalized pricing will come soon as well with the options

We'll have photos on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Looks like theres a storm in Northwest, causing some delays with customs ~.

We're prepping the GB right now to make sure we have everything in place.

This includes:

1) Design for the Brass Weight.

2) Rubber Feet (Custom Molded)

3) Screws required.

4) Packaging materials.

5) Lastly, updated PCB and plate (this is the most important of course, to include the split spacebar).

6) Shipping prices.

The board weighs about 5lbs (according to Fedex), but we'll just say 6.0 to 6.5lbs (approx 3kg) with PCB and materials.

Domestic is most likely $20.00 (custom boxes because of the shape of the board).

International sounds about $45.00 with USPS; and I'm working on UPS/FEDEX pricing international for those who prefer that to assure shipment arrival.

Also, we changed the brass to be PVD coating to make it stronger. This was a suggestion by Rama and the manufacturer since the regular plating would scratch more easily.

Could you clarify what you mean by plating? These are solid brass with a protectant coating?

Its a coating applied over the base brass metal, I thought that was quite clear from the post.

Plating can also mean brass plating over another metal, among other things.

Well its a brass weight (as stated in the post), so I don't see how you could use a brass plating on that... Plating involves deposition of a layer of a dissimilar metal on top of the base parent metal.

Yea, USPS is a little unreliable when it comes to international shipping I feel these days, at least compared to UPS and FedEx both of which are extremely competent (at least in Portugal) - wonder how much it'd cost through those instead, recently bought some tiny custom IEMs (albeit expensive) and FedEx express was actually $70 which is kinda crazy. Still, most likely worth the reassurance and ease of mind, as well as much faster delivery, at least for me personally.

Lastly and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, any word on whether you'll be offering assembly or will you just figure that out once you receive all the materials to ship out further down the line?

Can't wait for the pictures!

Mmm rose gold! My dream keyboard color for a long long time.  Glad you're offering it as an option.  Now if only I could get a TKL or similar size in that color (not a fan of 65% or 60% boards).

I've had good experiences with DHL Express as well (not ecommerce they suck, my GMK Carbon is still somewhere in the world), not sure about prices though. Definitely willing to pay for good shipping :)

I'll most likely go with UPS International since my office has picks up set for that on a weekly basis.

I'll be calculating the pricing soon when I can weigh everything when its in hand. Just 1-2 more days for photos! :D

I will only allow USPS to deliver to Canada & Australia (and Singapore), but other countries will be "forced" (sad, sorry) to use UPS as they should be more reliable internationally. Don't want this baby to get lost after all !

Lastly, one sample has arrived (from manu #1, the one that can't make good nylon samples). Manu #2 is estimated to arrive tomorrow!  Photos to come then!
