i agree, brass would be sweet, but in practice i would opt for a dull gold anodized alu plate instead

But that would defeat the main purpose of the brass plate: the feel (and to some extend the weight). Sure, if you are only aiming for the looks go for it, but brass offers more than that.

I hope it's not first come.

It's a raffle.

Wait, for real? Was planning to stay up tonight myself...jchan, can you confirm?  :)

It's what he said on discord but I'll let the man confirm for himself.

So, if someone who ordered Hydro was looking forward to the blue version, they'll also have to get lucky in a raffle?

First come first server - people complain.
Raffle - people complain.

There's going to be a round 2 people. Chill out a bit.

If you don't get to win the limited Hydro colorway that is a shame, yes, but no one ever said buying the keyset gives you dibs in this GB

Is anyone else having issues with the Google form saying "Loading..."?

Also in case you haven't seen it, or someone else hasn't posted it, here is a Youtube build video by Quakemz of the good prototype.

If it is raffle fingers crossed it ends up being opened up due to people still being skint from their Xmas shopping to spend $250 on a board.

As someone who knows nothing about brass, dose the tarnish need to be continually maintained and cleaned off to prevent damage or is it something purely visual that can be left on till the day you die?

There's no practical downside to tarnished brass.  It will simply have the dull more green and spotty appearance as opposed to the shiny uniform gold appearance.  It won't do any damage to your switches.  But if you care about having the plate looking pristine and shiny like new over time, then anodized aluminum should be your choice.

I wonder how people deal with it for korean customs. I know kin offers brass plates for his boards.

That's not bad for Canada. Good to know!

A LOT of bonus points for giving us another option than DHL for Canada.

It usually does include insurance to around $500 or so. Tracking is generally provided but not really accurate imo.

Just got some updated data. I think we'll roll with this instead.

Weight: 6lbs calculation, to account for packaging.

USPS Priority International w/ $600 USD Insurance: $68.00 - $74.00
DHL to Canada: $52.00
DHL to EU: $78 - 82 (Most Zones); Some are $130.00 like Poland.
DHL to Asia: $78 - 115

This is the general idea. These are specific to zones (or areas), and you'll be charged accordingly.

If you have a specific one you want me to check, please let me know by posting your Country below :).

I would highly recommend going with DHL for international transit for this.

$83.00 with DHL
$74 with USPS.

Typically, USPS to Australia isn't an issue. I've sent Rama, Flehrad, and Coz a few things before without hiccup.

Maybe midnight for you. 🤷 no clue though. It's jchans birthday today (super sensitive private information), so it'll probably come late after dinner at the earliest. He probably has plans with his girlfriend or family.

No I think that's rather selfish, if you win the raffle, that means there's someone who really would like to get the first round would've missed out

Perhaps afrokobe was asking about how to enter Round 2. To answer that, I assume you can just opt in when Round 2 comes around. The raffle is just for Round 1.

If they didn't mean that, then I agree with you hah.

Just want to check I'm not missing something here. The form is gunna go live at some point tonight but the buy is being done as a raffle. The form is open till the 11th so I don't quite get why people are eager to submit their entry asap tonight? As long as you do it before the 11th it doesn't make any difference right? I'm guessing it's just excitement, which I can understand as I really want to get in too but just wanted to make sure? =].

Yeah that seems about right. Although jchan hasn't said in this thread that the GB will indeed be a raffle (however someone mentioned that he said it would be in Discord), so perhaps people just want to be sure?  :p

I'm 0 for 3 on my last 3 raffles which means I must be due for a win.

If I rather wait for round 2 of buy, should I still enter in the raffle?

No I think that's rather selfish, if you win the raffle, that means there's someone who really would like to get the first round would've missed out

Perhaps afrokobe was asking about how to enter Round 2. To answer that, I assume you can just opt in when Round 2 comes around. The raffle is just for Round 1.

If they didn't mean that, then I agree with you hah.

Was the possible timeframe for Round 2 ever mentioned?

Check the OP. One of the first couple sentences says "limited to 200 /w raffle"

I probably misintepreted that then. AFAIK, the form is only for Round 1

Yea sorry didn't probably state that well.  I don't have the funds for round 1 right now, but would like to enter for round 2.  I just was not sure if to be considered for round 2, if you had to have entered in the first round.  Kind of like a sale for people who didn't make it in the first round.

It shouldn't matter when you fill out the form.  right now.. or in a couple days.  You should have the same odds.  So ponder for awhile if you choose.
