What are the sound or, for lack of a better word, technical differences between the switch plate options? Just wanted to ask before submitting the IC

Filled out the IC.  Is the bottom going to be fully polished brass?

When will the GB commence?

+1  Will it be after the CLSsh GB is finished up?

Torn between a 84 or 86 key layout.
Most of my favorite pictures of the original had 86 key layout.

Will it be after the CLSsh GB is finished up.
and 86 is same 87 case.

Also, will Brass be the only option for the bottom, or can we also choose Stainless Steel?

Glad it will  be after the CLSsh GB is finished.

Really hope the Grey color you showed a few pages back will be one of the color options.

The brass in the picture you posted does look good with the grey case top.

I'd be down with brass, but would much prefer Stainless.

First, he never said it wasn't sealed. Second, patina looks good. Third, tarnished brass is like the easiest thing in the world to clean.

Now that's a sad news, mirror finish SS is what so cool about round 1.

I mean, you can also mirror finish brass. Heck, with pvd you can even finish brass silver. (Not saying he's doing pvd). Mirror and material are unrelated things tho lol.

Pretty sure he's referring to this:

Regardless, that doesnt make what I said any less true. The point is brass can be shiny or matte and it can be treated to not tarnish. Saying no go on a GB because its made of a "metal you don't like" makes no sense.

I believe saying no to a GB because it doesn't suit your preference is a pretty valid reason and make perfect sense

At least with a weight it's not that easy to touch and mess up the finish with fingerprints.
The entire bottom of this keyboard is one big fingerprint magnet, especially the edges.

After the first week it's just going to look dirty.
I polished enough brass in the navy to last a lifetime - it's high maintenance to keep it looking good.

How resistant is it to chipping, bubbles, etc?
I haven't had much success with clear coat in the past.
That would be a cheap solution - although I'd prefer to have someone do it in a clean booth.

Tons of dust in the air where I stay is all - makes it hard to get a clean finish outside.
Durability of the coating is my primary concern - mainly chipping.
Got any photos of the finish?  How much wear and tear has it been through?
I'm considering trying on on the weight from my ST.

sold it a while ago, didn't take any good pics sorry

opted not to do it on my mira, since i want it to tarnish

LZ,

What about the angle?

I had never seen this  diagram before on how the LZ-GH v1 angle could be changed.  That is brilliant.

So when I look at this image, part of me wonders if it is even the same bar as before? Based on the back wall looking very flat with the even radius around the edging, it looks to me like this could be a wedge instead. Won't know for sure till we can see a profile shot.

This is looking hot! Typing video when??? :D

Round bar would be better suited to the roundedness of the case though  :p

Now that I think about it... that's a lot of brass, what will the cost be? :-X

The brass does look good with that gray case, but I'd still prefer stainless (especially with other case colors).

I'm also wondering what kinda of price we're gonna be looking at?

Good job! This board has its own attractions, especially in terms of the brass bottom.
I think the brass looks good with a red color.

nice. I am fine with the brass bottom, I do love the original bottom, but this looks good too. I am not a fan of the new bar though.

Looks great, but I agree with the others that round bar would be better.

Possible to buy PCB and plate only? I want a brass plate for my original LZ-GH. :)
