Inspired from a poster (I love it) that my best friends gave to me for my birthday a couple of years ago.


The poster itself is from NASA/JPL.
The Grand Tour is the route the Voyager 2 spacecraft took to visit all four outer planets. It's a flight plan that's possible every 175 years for the alignment of the outer planets of our solar system.

My friend Alessandro Maranta worked on the novelties design and he made a great job.

Hi everyone, we are close to the final stages of the gb, so this is the state of things right now:

• Keycaps:
  Basically all the bases have arrived to Kbdfans warehouse, but some kits are still in production. Production is expected to finish on September 13, once they arrive they will start arranging delivery immediately after.
  
  
• Deskmats:
  First round of samples was good about deskmat quality and details, but the colors were off. Currently waiting for secound round of samples, if they are good, production will start immediately after and should not take long. I'll keep you updated on this.
  
  
• Thok Artisans:
  There were some problems about this, qc were not good enough and vendors shipped the caps back to Thok, who's redoing QC and fix the issues. So Saturns are almost delivered to vendors, rockets are still waiting for the fix (some keycaps still have to arrive to Thok).
  This should not take long, i'll keep you updated.

Hi everyone, small update on what's going on:

  Kbdfans started shipping the caps to their customers (someone already received it last week) and they are shipping to the vendors
  
  
• Deskmats:
  R2 samples should be here next week or so. Pictures from the manufacturer seems good, i hope they are good irl too so the production can start.
  
  
• Thok Artisans:
  There are still some issues about rockets, me and the vendors are searching for a solution with Thok to solve this asap

The caps are already done but there are some issues on the finishing of the rockets.

Thok and Mkultra matched the cerakote with the green of the set and Thok is currently waiting for the cerakote delivery and a couple of keycap returns.

R2 protos came this week and they are good! They can start production, i'll let you updated.

I don't think they have really started shipping yet. If you had a deskmat in your order, it may also be delayed until the deskmats arrived. You can try to send an e-mail to their support mail to see if they can send the caps earlier.

Hi, if i remember correctly it was 1-2 months after they received all the caps. Unfortunately, we are past that date and at the moment I don't think I can provide a realistic eta.
I'm still talking with Thok for a possible solution, but nothing decided yet.

Hi, if i remember correctly it was 1-2 months after they received all the caps. Unfortunately, we are past that date and at the moment I don't think I can provide a realistic eta.
I'm still talking with Thok for a possible solution, but nothing decided yet.

If I could toss my two cents in, I think it would be a good solution to have all the kits ship without Razzo (deskmats seem another animal as well). Whoever was at fault for mixing cerakote for Ano on the Razzo should be responsible for the individual shipping from Thok direct to customers when those finish (if ever). I would be happy to provide my address to Thok for this. I would also be extremely unhappy with a partial refund and would gladly wait another year for the keyset/Razzo than to pay partially for something that I wont even get. This GB is still only half the wait of my first GMK set.

Hi, first thanks for the advice, I'll definitely take it into consideration when we have to make a decision.
For the kit shipping without Razzo (or deskmats) It's the vendor decision, splitting shipping can be a logistic hell sometimes. I'm pretty sure MkUltra have done this for their orders, don't know about other vendors thought.

Hi! I'm still waiting for a confirmation ( i was waiting for that before sharing an update), but seems that customs released the cerakote yesterday and it should be delivered to the factory by the
end of the week or max the start of the next week. As soon I get more news I will write here.

I apologize for the long wait on resolving the issues revolving around the green Razzo.
We went through every avenue possible in trying to make cerakote work in volume production. We had hurdles and delays with customs receiving the cerakote and rounds of testing that stretched time out.
Unfortunately Cerakote applications did not pass QC standards and at the moment the green anodization is the best option in both aesthetics and quality.
Thok will ship the anodized ones to vendors and if anyone is not satisfied with their artisan please contact your vendor, they will make it right for you.

I thought they would be a very dark green, but they look to be black in normal sunlight.

Hi, the alpha legends color is a very dark green and samples matched the chosen pantone color pretty well.
I made an album with some pics i took when the samples first arrived and one (the last) i did this morning (it's not the best pic, but i don't have my dlsr with me today).

Hi, the deskmats are done and currently are on their way to vendors.
Kbdfans received them yesterday or so, but they are located in China, so the shipping was faster.
The other vendors had to ship by sea, so we have to wait a little more because the shipping method it's slow.
I apologize for this, but the wait it's almost over.

Hi, yeah they shipped with train, from china to europe seems better than ship by sea (Candykeys used this method for other deskmats before, so it's not new for them).
