for white led keycaps post a WTB thread in the classifieds for white ducky shine keycap set.
they are sold out on mechanicalkeyboards.com and a few other places I checked.

Problem with posting in the Classifieds section is he doesn't have the required number of posts to start a thread there.

Can you get some more light on the inside of that black ring? I don't really see how it's mounted. Are you sure that it's mechanical and not a rubberdome with slider?

I just finished building my Phantom and looking for a case. I know that Filco and PLU will fit. Will a CM QFR case work?

I would like to know which 60 or 75% keyboards have a white case and if any of them have white, clears or greens.

Also, if there is someone that could mod a regular one for me!s

I think they are the same case, but do you not have a case for your poker x?

The first half, I don't think so, possibly a leopold that is somewhat rare, someone else probably knows better

The second half there is a directory of people who mod boards here

There was a KBT Race in white but that had issues with the paint chipping off. The Noppoo Choc Mini and the Keycool 84 are available in white, too. I don't think there's a 60% in white. None of those come with the switches you want though I think.

Yes, I saw it. I want heavier switches though :( I think I'll buy one of those (or maybe a Filco white TKL) and change the switches. Would that be expensive?

You can get some different springs from the classifieds or Originative and make some ghetto greens for example. Or you can buy some switches which will be more expensive though (price for 100 springs should be under 10$, Originative sells 100 80g springs for 8$, a new switch costs around 0.50-0.60$ per piece). Maybe check 7bit's MX group buy on deskthority.

I think you can turn them off if you want to but that is more of a guess. Since it will be the same PCB as the backlit version I am pretty sure they included that feature. Probably dimming as well.
Edit: Just looked it up in the manual, you can dim the backlight and turn it completly off as well.

Humm, more help them please :)

If I bought the switches from MX, I wouldn't know if I need the pins or not. The options are the filco and a noppoo choc. Also, is it easy to change them? Thanks for the replies so far guys!

Both the Noppoo and the Filco are plate mounted boards, so you don't need the pins. However, if you misordered or something, you can simply cut the pins off, it doesn't really make a difference.
Changing the switches or the springs is a bit of work as you will have to desolder the switches on plate mounted boards. This will take some time, you will also have to resolder them when reassembling the keyboard.
If you just buy different springs you will also have to open each switch, but with The_Beast's switch tools for example (currently available for pre-order, I would really recommend them if you want to get into keyboard modding) it's really easy and just takes a few seconds for each switch, opening - swapping the spring - closing takes about a minute for each switch, depending on how fast you are.
You won't have to open the the switches if you simply replace them with new switches of course, so that would a bit faster.

Thanks! I think I'll try swapping the springs them! Seems easier for starting :) I'll buy some switches to practice first :)

Could be that you misunderstood me there: For swapping the switches themselves you will have to desolder them all, and resolder again. When swapping only the springs you will have to additionally open the swiches, so really just changing switches is easier, but more expensive as well.

Ok, I get it. Indeed I misunderstood.

So, to desolder and resolder, that'd be too hard for a total idiot on these things?

Not too hard, but you need some soldering equipment of course and enough time and patience. To get an idea of how much work it is, heres a video from WhiteFireDragon swapping the switches of a Filco to Ergo Clears:
If you don't want to do that, here you can find some people who will do it for you: Professional Services Directory.

The regular QFRs should be unbranded and black now.

The QFR Stealths already have the black cases. I think they have matching plate colors as well. So red switches have red plates, blue switches have blue plates, etc.

3) sticker sheet, worth?

1) I think so? I'm not sure. There might be a custom Korean one.
2) I've seen a 35g mod but I'm not sure how he did it. I didn't look at the article I saw.
3) Read the OP. This isn't the Price Check Thread. There are vendors who sell stickers so check those out for an idea.

If you take the Korean measurements (by bottom out force), the brown springs bottom out around 60g (correct me if I'm wrong here!). You can get 62g, 65g, 67g or 80g springs pretty easily (Originative for example), 80g should be close to the original black springs. Lighter springs sometimes show up in the classifieds, i.e. 45g or 55g springs. Be aware that with a less strong spring, the tactility of a switch will increase (can make it sticky feeling though), but with a stronger spring it will decrease.

67g is probably closest to MX blacks. 80g is definitely heavier than Blacks based on my own research.

I don't have any 80g 67g springs to compare, this was just compiled from waht I read on the forum, so I guess you're right. Kind of a simple question: I made this beginner guide to modding, should I rather put it in the keyboard section or in the making stuff together section?
