Sunday 6.30am in South Australia is a very awkward time but I'll do my best. Are you going to meet the demand mate? It seems like another copy & paste competition.
This is not a good time for Asia buyer :(
I don't see the right blocker in the limited edition? Is it a silver one in the first picture?
This one starts in 10 or so hours right?
There are 2 type of top Mount Bezels.(with or without .5U blocker)
Can winkeyless.kr 22mini PCB be applied to both bezels?
Will the link to the form be posted in the comments or top post?
Looking forward to this! Any idea on if you will be able to offer extra PCB & plates down the road?
Form where will these be shipped and will only the Ag version support all layouts?
So do I have to know exactly what options I want when I try to get a spot or can I change say color/plate before invoicing?

Got anymore pictures for the undecided or maybe a typing test/quick video showing the board under different angles?
Hey quick question, sorry if it's a silly one (this is my first kit). Does the PCB support PCB-mounted switches, or only plate mounts?

IM SORRY, WHAT IS CRACKOTING??
What is Cerakote?
Cerakote is a Polymer-Ceramic Composite coating that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood. The unique formulation used for Cerakote ceramic coating enhances a number of physical performance properties including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness. Each of these properties is rigorously tested to guarantee that Cerakote products remain at the forefront of the ceramic coatings market. Cerakote ceramic coatings utilize state-of-the-art technology to out-perform any competitive coating in both laboratory settings and real world applications.

Technically he's right. EST is Eastern Standard Time. If we were currently in standard time it would be 3 not 4. But we are currently in DST which means its EDT not EST. :P

Consider it a reward for being fast on your fingers! :P Limited edition and all that.
True. That makes sense also. Either way, congrats for getting in to the both of ya's!
Going to work on the spreadsheet and post it soon. I'll be invoicing shortly afterwards.
If you accidentally entered AG and would prefer the standard one, please PM me ASAP.
Thanks for the interest all!

the 268 looks smaller and less heavy than the X60. What's the original price for the X60?
Wow that's a great deal compared with the 268 (standard version)
True. That makes sense also. Either way, congrats for getting in to the both of ya's!
Congrats to you as well :D. Now the hard part. Picking a color and whether or not I want a blocker. I originally put down purple top black bottom, then I thought dark grey bottom, but I'm also tempted to just go with a like forest green or deep navy blue top instead.
The blocker looks so much better, I just can't decide if I could get a layout I'd like on it. On my tada68 I have fn and right ctrl mapped as fn keys and when they are both pressed together (which I can do with my thumb) it goes to a different layer. With the 1.25 bottom row like the 68 key, I think I could just abandon the right alt key and get the functionality I want, but the real problem is the default 7u layout on the universal picture is basically perfect as it's the same layout as my 60s are. But then I would have no choice but to lose the double fn key.
What is everyone else going with (and why)? What kinda layouts? (and what colors, etc :P)
Wow that's a great deal compared with the 268 (standard version)
...How so?

Also do you have a preferred way for us to request modifications? Email or pm or telegram or w/e. I think I’m gonna flip my colors and add a blocker and some more plates :D. I hadn’t seriously thought about what I wanted cause I didn’t wanna get my hopes up.

It looks like there are a bunch of different Cerakote products, each with different sets of available colors. What should a be looking at to figure out which color I'd like? H series?
Okay, so Navy Blue in Cerakote probably means H-127 "Kel-Tec Navy Blue". That looks about right to me.
For anyone else going with Cerakote, please note that Cerakote will send you color swatches on request (I have no idea how fast those will get mailed out, or if they can get them to you before xondat places the order).
One guy ordered one of every plate. Gotta be a mistake no?
Are brass plates still slated to be polished? I'd prefer the more understated sandblasted look of the weight.

TBH My brain just immediately thought Silver (technically it first went gold but then I remembered thats Au not Ag).

It is. Color is slightly different but I'll be able to match tops and bottoms.
So, two people with AGs are going with grey anodizing.. either of those people want to swap to a non ag in dark gray since it's essentially the same thing? I'd really like to get a dark blue case.

Im still sticking with anno for this one, but I definitely will have to get one cerakoted eventually. That purple is not bad at all.
There are stock premade cerakote colors (powders I believe, that get mixed with a liquid hardener before spraying), so it's easy to reproduce a color.

Ohhh you mean like they do blends? I didn't know that. None of the premade colors really appealed to me. Either way since I don't really have any nice boards yet I figure I'll start with anodizing cause I know i like the look and feel of it. Cerakote is a very satiny finish and I'm not sure I'd like it in the colors I'm going for. If I already had a few nicer boards or I was looking for a more specific color then I'm sure cerakote would be an easy choice though. In theory it's stronger than anodizing i think.
I will have to research the blending colors thing though, it will definitely make cerakote a more appealing option for me in future GBs (or just getting it done to something myself).
Cerakote looks nothing like the pics on the site -- You can order free swatches from them. I recommend it.

When I say it has a satiny finish, that’s based on my old provari that was cerakoted.
Does anyone know if after cerakote the surface is still cold to the touch like metal? Or is it like a powder coat where it’s insulating?

Just to give you some idea of how quick those Cerakote samples go out, the Cerakote color sample I requested on 10/14 (a Saturday night) was mailed out to me on 10/16 (the following Monday). I'm not sure when it got here because I wasn't paying that much attention to the mail, but it's already here. It was mailed USPS first class from White City, Oregon, which should give you some idea of how long it would take a sample to reach you. It's a 1" by 4" strip of aluminum sheet, Cerakoted in the requested color.

Just finished building the board. Ended up driving an hour to jae/jon_flynn for a stabilizer wire (and I'll ask him to share his thoughts). It's hard to stay unbiased, but I can say it's truly a joy to use. The lower plate just improves everything; it's much more comfortable than say X60 or a HHKB. I'm using an aluminum plate, which is a new feeling to me, but comparing to how X60 types, it's just more solid and feels more consistent. It's hard to describe and I can only really say you should wait and try it ;DShow Image(https://i.imgur.com/GSvz2Aq.jpg)

Hi all,
I've been thinking about the future of 268 recently whilst I've been finishing of my new designs.
In short, instead of running future rounds of 268 as planned, I'll be making this the only run. I understand some people missed out, so instead of having 42 total (22 AG + 20 268), I'll be rounding the 268s to 28 to make the total 50.
This means there are 8 new spots available; if you're interested, please fill for form out.

Regarding placing the order with the factory, I'm aiming to do it this week. Just been finalizing the slight changes needed after the sample - I'll be going over these in a future post.
Thanks :p

Im going with the 68 key layout, and the associated fixed layout plate. Blocker, Brass plate, and gonna try for a "British Racing Green" inspired anno.
Gonna have to dig up a set of coniferous i thinks, but plum will look great with green any day of the week.
What about opening more slots for the AG? ;D

Hope you don't mind me putting mx browns in it..
Oi if you can extend the slots then can you change my order to cerakote too :p :p :p :p
The future designs must be really good if it's enough to convince you to close 268.
Are these future designs you're considering also going to be 65%, or some other size layout?
"Other size layouts" like 1800 or compact sounds fantastic :)
Are these future designs you're considering also going to be 65%, or some other size layout?
Generally just whatever I'm feeling at the time. Original plan was to do an 80% in this exact style, and then move onto 60% etc. If I stick with one design for long enough, there will be lots of layouts :))
Invoice has been paid....just wonder if I could switch to the non-blocker version instead of one?You may have the only 268 in existence without blockers then, hah.

I actually meant to remove it from the options. I've already changed the plate files so no non-blocker layouts are supported and it cleaned things up a lot. :'(

That is fair to. I wonder if anyone getting one actually uses iso, i would assume there must be someone since support is being maintained. I will admit, the iso cutout is the only really "ugly" part of the universal plate to me. But I have no issue with it for people who need it.
For me it was never even in consideration though cause I love the idea of a 65% with the same spacebar placement as all my tsangan boards. Someone needs to make a board in that layout with a blocker where the left ctrl is as well. It would be perfect :D.

I forgot how long they are
Didn't even consider order. Maybe easier to avoid people getting upset and just do it how I want :))
We'll see what arrives.
For those of us who opted for Cerakote, are the incoming cases Cerakoted, or do those still need to be sent out for Cerakote?
If the AG ones arrive in time for the meet up feel free to bring mine along to the meet fam, perhaps we can do an impromptu live build :D :D
Excellent news. Boards be ready by UK meetup time?
Fun news, Leandren let me know that some will ship before CNY. We don't know which, just know that some will.
Received the first lot of parts today; silver/unanodized cases with some weights from both normal and AG, and I think all brass plates.
I'll do a proper inventory check later today and see if any can be sent out.
Small teaser :-*Show Image(https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/340410967043342337/412648342364094470/image.jpg)
Done the count - 1 order is ready, and I've contacted them :p
The anodized cases & weights look great. Very happy with what I'm seeing.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/nRCPy5p.jpg)Show Image(https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/312287977151660042/412674605619216386/image.jpg)
I'll get some more images up later.
Unfortunately there is some bad news. I planned to have the PC plates produced locally, but it hasn't worked out. I'll be getting these made at a previous place I've used for PC plates, and it shouldn't delay the 2nd batch. The downside to this is that 4 total could've shipped, but 3 of these have PC plates, so I'll have to hold onto them for now. They'll ship at the normal time (this 1st batch is "early").
ETA for the rest is after CNY, so I'm not expecting to hear anything new until afterwards. :thumb:
Forgot to post these, the two images show the before and after of the blocker sizing and the inner edge finishing changes:Show Image(https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/340410967043342337/412619476312391690/image.jpg)Show Image(https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/340410967043342337/412619492166729728/image.jpg)
As you can see, perfect! :))
Can you show us some photos? Would it be possible to buy different screws so that it doesn't become an issue?
will the screw in stabs used for the spacebar make a mark on the inside of the case with the supplied GMK screws? I would rather not put excess pressure on either the case or pcb - even if minimal.
I would love to know specs needed to try and locate some flat top screw to use instead.
Thanks for the headsup!
(a quick fix you probably would not like (anti led :P ) would be an acrylic layer at 1 or 2 mm, and longer body bolts , increasing height and sandwhiching - maybe an idea for a second small fix?)

It's left a small mark on the production case I've tested, but not in my sample, so it might only affect some. No real way of telling apart from doing a whole build on every case.
0.8mm head height should be the tallest that will work.
Acrylic makes me sad.

I'm already researching screws :P
My guess is something like this will work:
https://www.nbk1560.com/en-US/products/specialscrew/nedzicom/lowsmallheadscrew/SETS/SETS-M2/
Worst case I will totally just order customs screws with .2mm heads and sell them to anyone else who wants some. I'm positive there is some way to make it fit with screw ins :P

I like zeal stabs, all zeal stabs are screw in ergo... spending $20 whole dollars on screws... i know i know, i'm gonna have to cut the meals to just raman and rice after such an exorbitant expense since who can afford that?
I spent $400 on a board, I'll spend $20 more to get it as close to perfect as I can...
I'm not complaining or saying there is anything wrong with clip ins, just saying there are options for those who don't want to use them.

Overrated or not, there are no clip in zeal stabs... its really not that complicated. I like the way the clear zeal stabs look, so I will find a way to use them.

Probably no difference in daily use, but I really like to use Cherry screw ins for how solid they are.
How is this going to affect future boards based on the same inner design?

IT'S MY CHUSTOM AND I WANT IT NOW!
Just wondering if there going to be another round in the near future. Instant buy for me.

excited to camp the IC and then probably not buy it because i don't have money
Just want to post a public update and why there haven't been any.
Parts are all done, just waiting on some quotes for other projects and then they'll ship.
There haven't been any updates here as I've moved all GB communication to Discord. It's better than GH PMs, as I'm sure most will agree.
Cases should start appearing later this month :p
Should have the cases next week, and shipped out by the end of the month. :p
If anyone decides that they don't need this pm me because I just decided I needed it :(
I can't find you in discord. Can you please provide a link?
I've started sorting after receiving the second batch. Lots of parts to unwrap, note inventory, and then quality check.
48 out of 50 participants are in my Discord server for updates, so sorry if they're sparse here. Deliveries should start early next month :p

Do you think you could answer that here, on the site where you ran the group buy?
xondat,
Are you going to send out Paypal invoices for Cerakote (like you did with the keyboards and shipping), or should we be making other arrangements to pay for that?
Hmmmr/madlads
What’s this
https://shop.noxary.co/collections/268-2/products/noxary-268-2-polycarbonate
Can I get a polycarbonate case with cerakote?Would you accept spray painted?
Hey, so the top piece of my 268 was apparently damaged on arrival so Xondat said he's going to be getting another top redone. The top piece is going to be blue grey like what was offered in the 280. I don't want to wait any longer, (was told that it was apparently 5-8 weeks to get a new one made), so I'm trying to see if there is anyone interested in taking my spot.
It includes:
Blue grey top
Dark Grey bottom
2 x PCB's
1 Universal Brass plate
1 Universal polycarb plate
Should be around 480 USD + whatever shipping is. Please PM me if you're interested in taking over
Are the boards at the cerakoting place yet?

In the mean time, can't you send the 4 completed boards to those of us who opted out on screw thread cleaning?
I.e.:
- finalarcadia
- frostbyte-gaming
- txclack
- UberDrk
another week has passed. any communications from the cerakote people?
What about the other boards (the ones that won't be cerakoted)? Can't we start shipping them?
Not sure how long it takes to inspect 4 boards ... but here we are a week later with no update with respect to the already finished 4 boards who have opted out of screw thread cleaning.
FWIW got my replacement bottom half today, looks fantastic. Xondat addressed and resolved my issue so I'm happy thus far, just have to clean the screw holes and build it!
What's the latest on the best method for loosening up the sand in the threads and removing it? I remember in this discord people said simple green worked?
Can I update my status to waive thread cleaning and have it shipped now-ish? thanks
Is anyone interested in taking over my spot? My order is for a Noxary 268 AG, serial number 21/22, with a single pcb, universal brass plate, and a set of stabs (with 6.25U space). It's currently scheduled to be Cerakoted in Navy Blue, but the cases haven't gone to the Cerakoter yet, so I assume that can be changed. I've paid $407.55 plus $50 shipping to the US. I believe the expected cost for Cerakote is $160.
I'd also be interested in transferring my spot if anyone wants it.
- 268 Dark Gray (Order 15)
- 2 PCBs, 1 PC68 plate, 1 BR68 plate, 2 6.25u stabs
- $478.90 for gear, $50 for US West shipping
- Currently waiting for cleaning

Hello
I'm willing to transfer my spot to someone.
It was a (268-26)
It contained a Dark Grey Case, PCB, Brass Plate, 2x GMK Screw in Stabs.
The total was $408 USD plus $70 shipping.
Asking for a total of $526 due to the 10% PP fee.
Let me know if you are interested, thank you.
New week. Any news on cerakoting?
I'm not sure I understand correctly. From what I read in updates, there was a miscommunication about if you were supposed to send them the boards or not and you haven't heard back about if you are supposed to send them the boards for 2 weeks. Is that correct?
Hello
I'm in a need of Money and wanted to transfer my 268 AG, my number is 15

Since when is PP fees 10%? In my experience it's always 20p (or cents, whatever your local currency is) plus 3.4% of the total transaction value)

Seems they're not too interested in working with you. Even if they did finally reply, it would probably not an ideal situation if there ended up being problems with the finishes. Hmmm... Any other places to look? Could we just have these anodized with the people doing the 280s?
Just want to clear some things up:
I refund the old participant selling their slot, and invoice the new participant.
Since these are basically at shipping stage, all but the cerakoting boards include shipping.
Cerakoting is an additional cost of $TBC.
Currently wanewang and iamtootallforthis want to sell their slots.

It's hard to tell what slots ppl are selling. I'd only be interested (possibly) in a dark gray anodized slot.

If you both are okay with it, lac29 could buy wanewangs #2 slot and xondat swap the case with my dark gray. I wanted a purple case from the beginning. My case isn't AG though, if that's important for you.

I messaged you about purchasing #1
For anyone wondering about the Paypal fees on slot swaps, I paid $407.55 for the slot I recently gave up, plus another shipping invoice of $50. Xondat refunded the $50 shipping invoice in full, and sent me a separate payment of $389.32 as a refund for the $407.55 I paid for the keyboard (so, less 4.4%). Those of you who are asking for paypal fees to be added onto what you're asking in a slot swap just to break even are right. I have no idea if you can get Xondat to go along with adding the fees in so you can break even on a slot swap. Good luck.

He should have refunded your initial payment. PayPal refunds the fees but I guess because we're out of the protection period fees get tacked on again
Reading this thread is making me anxious for when the 280 starts shipping..
As noted above...
#4 Regular slot, Dark Gray, 2 PCBs, 1 Brass 68 Key
#5 14/22 AG, Cerakoting, 2 PCBs, 2 Brass 68 Key
PM me location & PayPal address if you want either.
And a note that some are being sent out this week as they've opted out/cerakoting themselves:
cktenders
traumtrager
mcnos
romchique
I'm still down with waiting and having mine anodized the same color as my 280 and 220 if that's an option :)
Speaking of, Those samples should probably be coming in soon, right? Wanna see the new green.

I am extremely unhappy and frustrated with the direction this buy has taken.
I am currently awaiting a refund payment for my spot as I initially received the refund money through a goods and services payment which caused me to both get docked fees and allow xondat the ability to dispute the payment or request a refund.
I refunded the payment and requested I be paid through friends and family but was told his business account could not pay friends and family.
I asked other business PayPal account holders and was told that friends and family payments are possible with business accounts but xondat continued to dispute this.
He has said he would reach out to PayPal to sort the issue but when I asked for a timeline I was told "probably next week."
This is clearly not a priority to him as he has "other noxary business" to deal with.

No, I would not scam a mod. This is ridiculous you'd suggest this.
Sorry you're frustrated; as you have refused the refund, despite having bills to pay that you mentioned, I cannot prioritize this suddenly ahead of things I already have to do.

As stated in pms, I'm not saying you'll scam me but the fact that you still have even slight access to my funds is garbage.
I refused your refund due to it being the improper method by which to refund someone after 180 days.

Did this get resolved?
I cannot prioritize this suddenly ahead of things I already have to do.
So I finally received my 268 AG a few weeks ago, I opted out of thread cleaning, and after using it for awhile I must say I am really digging Xondat's new design for series 2.
http://i.imgur.com/z5PbU0t.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/z5PbU0t.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/z5PbU0t.jpg)
I got 2 pcbs and plates to go with this board, I built them as brass with holy pandas and poly half plate with retool blacks. This was my first half plate experience and it was interesting.
My initial thoughts when first typing on this board is damn the feel and sound are great. The minimal height and space inside the case makes for a very solid feeling and a nice tight sounding board. Quite surprising for such a thin and sleek board. As there is no space inside due to the tight tolerances you cannot fit foam inside, however it sounds great without it and doesn't really need it.
My main complaint with it would be the use of slot head screws as they are very easy to slip out of and just an overall pita, however xondat has changed all his boards forward to not use slot head screws. Also the thread cleaning tho it worked out in the end did add extra work into having to build this board. As Xondat is now in closer communication with the factory and is aware of this possible issue I hope this doesn't happen again and cause him more work and stress as well as stress to the gb participants.
Overall I am quite happy with how this board turned out and I must say that half plate is kind of nice. I think however, I would prefer going full plate less or full poly as the inconsistency in feel and sound between alphas and mods is a little weird to me.
Now I wait for poly 5mm too see if that turns out as hype as I think it will be. :thumb:

Whilst there were/are 4 issues with this, all have been fixed for the future.
Just showing when the GB opened doesn't tell the whole story. A couple of those are shipping mid next month, and one goes into production at that time.
If you want to presume I'm opening another group buy because I have an IC open, that's fine, but it's not the case.

One would also presume a GB with 50 units, started just under a year ago, would be over by now. I think his concern may be that you have 280 + 220 at over 130 units, X60r with 20 or so units, and your PC buy with unknown number of units already invoiced and paid by customers.
I think slowing down is a great recommendation.
I'm not necessarily concerned with you finishing what you started, but I am a bit concerned with your tendency for pumping out new projects without finishing up currently running ones. For these 268s, it appears that about half of them have shipped out and from what I can recall you've had them on hand since April. I understand that you've had QC and other issues communicating with your factory during that time period and delays are imminent in pretty much all GBs.
However, the thing that really bothers me is that in that time period when you have had the 268s on hand, you've found the time to launch 2 additional GBs (280/220 and polycarbonate 268.2) in addition to having the X60R currently in production as well. Now, I'm not too concerned about the ICs (XRF and T60) personally, but with the slow rate of QC, shipping, etc. you look like you have your hands pretty full for the foreseeable future. From the GB members perspective, it just seems like your attention is a bit divided, and a lot of the issues with QC and replacement parts could have been resolved a long time ago with proper attention given in a more timely manner as opposed to spending that time to launch new projects. Just my $0.02...
Did this get resolved?
Yes.

Yes.
Could you please elaborate on *how* was this resolved? I'm in the same situation that iamtootallforthis described -- shortchanged on my refund by the amount of the Paypal fees and similarly exposed to the possibility of you being able to try to get a refund on your refund from Paypal due to how you paid it.
I think (according to his Discord) he is/was out of town till tomorrow. Hoping all the boards will be shipped out pronto....
What are you thinking will come of the cerakote 268? Do you have any plans or is everything still just in limbo?
How goes it for those of us who had to get replacement parts for our 268?
- amnesia (Replacement parts)

Received the replacements, will figure out whose is what later after I've unpacked them/had food etc. I think 5/6/7 can ship.
Where are we regarding the screw hole cleaning?
I know you have been trouble getting ahold of cerakote shop, any decisions made about that?

I see that you received the replacements, but do you now know whose boards you can ship out?
Thanks.
Any update on mine or Mcnos being shipped?

I mean this as positively as possible, but having had the 'dirty' parts since May-ish I believe this should not require much time. Can't check your discord, I was removed or it was disbanded.
Someone posted in discord the necessary tools to clean out the holes. I received mine 'dirty' and it only took 30min to re-tap all of the holes and clean out the gunk.
I can't help but feel you're just not motivated to get this problem resolved.
I'd be happy to provide you with part numbers for the die and tap set if you'd like.

EDIT: I received a few PMs about screw hole cleaning and I would like to provide some info without spamming the thread. While I can not say how effective the soap approach is, I can say that using a tap and die set worked very well for me before I relinquished my boardShow Image(https://imgur.com/U2mYmbU.jpg)Show Image(https://imgur.com/CMnliwp.jpg)
I want to ensure anyone who tries this that you are 100% capable of this task. I have a solid foundation of mechanical skills, but If you can turn a screwdriver you can clean the manufacturing debris out of your 268.
The left diagram is less relevant, but explains the types of taps (tools for actually MAKING threads) and for the 268 closed end tap is what is needed as we do not want to make the holes any deeper than they are from the manufacturer.
Now, the threads are already cut, and the supplied part number for the tap has the exact thread pitch (spacing) and diameter as the 268. So all you will need to do is assemble your tap and wrench, and CAREFULLY screw it into each of the holes.
If you look closely, you'll notice the tap is notched, as you slowly screw the tap in, it will collect the debris in the notches.
The first one or two holes took a while because I was unsure the screw hole depth, but once you get comfortable you know how far down the tap will to before bottoming out. I never used an excess of force at any point. Imagine the amount of force it takes to turn a can of soda on a table top. Light and easy was all that was necessary.
It will sound somewhat cringe-y at first, lots of grinding but as long as you have slowly started the tap without cross threading it, you'll be fine. One slow first pass through each hole to get the majority of the debris, followed by a second for throughness was all it took for my board. YMMV.
It took me about 30m-45m to do all the holes, and I tapped some of the holes 3-4 because I was unsure of how clean they were.
Lastly, I think the flat tip screws are cheap and mechanically inefficient. In the first screen is the part number for hex screws. they were the proper length for the case, but slightly too long for the plate. I have 100 of them and probably wont use them.
I'm willing to send out a set of 10 screws for the 268 case to anyone who wants them, for $4 a package, until I run out. I can also send my tap/die set to someone who wants it, for a little less than my cost.
If I missed anything for those of you who PM'd me or might have wanted to. Feel free to ask. I think I provided all part numbers and images in the above images though,
Regards.
EDIT 2: I would like to provide credit to Elth who showed me the tap and die IIRC, and I can't remember who in discord originally posted the screws. Perhaps it was Travis? Anyways, thanks to you gents for helping me get my 268 taken care of.

The process i meant to describe isnt actually rethreading the holes. It's just a useful tool to precisely clean out the gunk. some of mine were nearly sealed.

No updates for thread cleaning? You've had them for several months now and atleast what I've seen there was a failed attempt and then two weeks ago you mentioned you would try on the B-stock parts. I'm not trying to be mean but it for me as a buyer you make it feel like this is very low on the list of priorities which feels rather insulting, given the amount of time you've had the parts. It would be nice to see this GB get wrapped up so it's off your mind when focusing on other projects.

I have a tap set on the way because washing everything out isn't reliable and takes time. The mess up comes from putting screws in when it isn't fully clean which is why I haven't gone down this route.

Just gonna bump this. I don’t have a ton of time to build boards lately, so while I was very excited for this I’d rather it go to someone else than sit in my closet for the next however many months. And as Xondat mentioned above it ships within the next week so no waiting involved either!

Just gonna bump this. I don’t have a ton of time to build boards lately, so while I was very excited for this I’d rather it go to someone else than sit in my closet for the next however many months. And as Xondat mentioned above it ships within the next week so no waiting involved either!
If a buyer want's to just grab the board and 1x pcb/plate. I'd be up for grabbing the extra pcb/plate
I'd be interested in this.
I'm separating pcb/plate?

Doesn't matter to me! If you've already been in touch with dallman5 and xondat then it makes sense for you to get it.

I have my own board already, I just need an extra pcb/plate
Yeah that's fine. My wallet will thank me. Plus I don't really want/need an extra PCB+Plate

Well that's if the deal falls through with Dallman or not. Just PM me if something happens, rather not flood this thread with quotes and responses.
Cleaning/Replacement Parts OTW:
- amnesia (Replacement parts/PCBs)
- cortz (Replacement parts)
- txclack (Replacement parts)
- tuba section (Replacement parts)
- UberDrk (Replacement parts)
- techfresh (opt out)
I need to quality check the new parts, but presuming these are fine, these 6 will ship next.
Sorry for the lack of update on these, they will be out within the next 7 days.

Hey, I'm kwy0 from the xondat discord, and I'm taking dallman's spot. We can work out the extra plate pcb stuff on discord because I don't need extra. Thanks!

Any update on if these boards were shipped out? Also, I answered your PM about the 268 color in your discord.

Hey running 3 GBs at once is hard work :))
One of which is waiting on shipping iirc, another hasn't even had the order put in, and this 268 thread.
Happy 1-Year Anniversary!
my grandma died this weekend.
yet i'm still at work today.
idk. 'irl problems' doesnt seem like a legit excuse to me at this point.

Sorry to hear that.
People cope with major life events in different ways and I think it's important to remember that.
Personal problems isn't an excuse, but more of an indication that things aren't okay personally.
I don't think either of us are looking for pity though.
The message I intended to convey was just that it's important to remember the 'real world' doesn't much care about things like personal loss. Time doesn't stop and deadlines don't often move. That's all.
I'm having some personal problems irl, sorry.

I got some screw threading stuff today so will be trying it out when I can, hopefully that's the start of the end.
@jeffbolton I'll have it shipped in the next batch
@txclack Yours is packed, just need to pack a couple others and get them out now

Thanks for the update. Do you have prospective manuf yet or will it be a long delay? I assume the new manuf will be anodizing my 268, yes?

Any updates on shipping status?
Any updates on shipping status?
Not really. I need to print 3 more labels (which includes cross checking payments, checking addresses etc.) of the 8 I'm sending next, and then get them to DHL.

Planning on finishing the labels tonight. :)

9 days for 3 labels?
What's the status of cerakote? Can I get it sent over raw?
What's the status of cerakote? Can I get it sent over raw?
I'm shortly receiving some anodized parts from a different factory so I think it'd be wise to wait for that and then go with the better one. I can send it raw if you'd like.

I'll be happy to wait and see what you've got in mind. Thank you :)
Edit: do you have a general timeframe for this so I can set my expectations?
Another screw snapped when someone was building their board (they got it out). It was a new top piece, which means the screws are ****.
I was going to ship a few this weekend but I'm no longer comfortable with the quality of the screws, so I'll be replacing them. I know of some proven screws, however they're on amazon.com so I'd have to use a proxy, which will take longer. This doesn't really affect anyone but the following:

cortz

If you want the board shipped without screws, please let me know, otherwise I'm going to wait for the new ones.
Yes, I should've realized the screws were bad a long time ago, but we're here now and I can only say I'm sorry for it.
About screw threads, I've finished tapping a production piece and I'm about 80% confident it's good, however there is no way I'm putting the crap screws I have in, so will test with the new ones and hope all is good.

The expectation was high as this GB was my first Geekhack GB. There was a problem, but I believed you'd work it out. However, no progress has been made since May. When can people like me without asking questions get a keyboard? I don't think it takes six months to clean the hall. I'd like to ask you when it will be finished. And if it's difficult, I ask for a refund.

try reaching him in the r/mk discord in the kb-kustom thread. He had enough time to @ me and call me salty.
Perhaps he can find time to address your questions, since he's not sending out boards yet.
best of luck :thumb:

Those marked * have had their threads cleaned. I've ran the good screws through a couple times to make sure there are no issues, and I'm feeling good about them. I think the new ones stick out a tiny bit (whole reason I went with slot was the smallness), but it's by something like 0.08 so not noticeable. I'll wait until these are received before starting on the rest just to confirm everything is fine.

Pick up tomorrow (Friday), I wasn't around other days for them to pick up, sorry.
Previous small batch was all delivered, just waiting on feedback on the cleaned parts. 1 person said "It's fantastic", which gives me hope, but just want to make sure the other 2 were good.
Were any of the boards cleaned during the last month? Can we have a timeline to wrap this up?
hey guys, does anyone can flashing the pcb x268 v2 with UK Layout? Im not in this GB but i joined the LZ cls ms 65 with pcb from x268 v2 and using qmk firmware. I'm manually keymap from qmk config online and compile it. Then download the firmware and flashing it by using QMK Toolbox. However, with various times flashing, the esc key does not replacing by the " ~`" and the BACKSPACE 2u still regconized by Slash and Dash icon.
