ok I’m in

still same angle as V2?
Do you really think it would be anything other than 11 degrees?

Darn, was really hoping for something lower. My CLS had 10 degrees, and even that was already pretty uncomfortable...

Are the colors decided? I'm hoping for a Red and/or E-white, depending on the GB timing and price ofc.

Does anyone know when the GB will happen?

it'll get posted in here, but generally duck ICs come up on GH about 6-8 weeks before the buy starts

but with the facilities the way they are right now, i wouldn't be surprised to hear about a delay

Doubt it, no indication for polycarb afaik and I doubt that changes will be made since the Korean gb started a while ago.

IIRC, I don’t think Duck has ever done a PC case.  I’ve seen the PC plates though.

There’s a Teaha build of a V2 Octagon with a PC bottom though that I just saw, so there might be a 3rd party option somewhere.

There's some backstory that people like Pudsy know / can fill in - I'm too new to know the details. But the gist of it is that Duck used to offer Acrylic bottoms (different angle) and also used to offer more color options from anodizing (I am typing this from a red octagon v2 I bought on r/mechmarket). However, a production run for one of the GBs (maybe orion v2? idk) had issues: some boards had streaks in the anodizing or other production inconsistencies/defects.
After that, Duck switched fabricators? In any case - he simplified his range of offerings. I've probably grossly misrepresented the facts so I'm hoping one of the elders can chime in with the real story:)

Oh that's cool - I had no idea.  I've been on the hunt for an Octagon / Eagle for the longest time, but every time one comes up on r/mm or GB, I literally just got into another GB - in this case, the latest offerings from kin.  One of these days though....   :))

duck has done acrylic bottoms but not PC, and has stopped due to high failure rate and low order rate

but yeah that's basically it

we could see it again, but duck doesn't use the same fab most other people are using now and as far as i know isn't really looking to switch

Its happening. Is this going to be limited to 100 units as well?

100 units only

Colors?

Black and silver

Grey and Red will have conditions same as my previous buy on the Octagon V3.  I cannot guarantee the consistency of these 2 colours. If you agree to that condition, then yes, you can choose to pick that colour.

yes.

will this be a mini usb pcb?

Any chance of getting a Hot Swappable PCB?

Are there more info on the PCB, and the mounting of the acrylic diffusers?

for the PCB:
- is it solder pcb? (non-hotswap)
- connector type (USB-C, mini, micro)
- firmware? (QMK, VIA)

Thanks
