lol we're doing a group buy within a group buy.

Quote from: mmmty;498241
This way everyone pays for shipping equally. Someone has to make a stop to the post office on his way to work and ship the other sets. I think the person with the least amount of posts should do this as a sign of good will.
Hmm this is not fair for the person that has to do the reshipping. He shouldn't have to pay for the 2nd shipping since he's not actually shipping his own stuff anywhere. The sign of good will is repackaging and shipping out everyone's stuff. Let's say 10 people are in on this... that's a lot of work to package, address all the boxes, and drive to the post office to ship it. You're already getting it cheaper with group shipping, so it's not really fair to ask for even cheaper at his expense.

This was the point I was making. You're paying for extra shipping you're not using and having to spend time to reship.

So whitefiredragon, tsangan, reptile and myself. Is everyone after one set of blanks? I'd like to just get this done instead of gathering more and more people.

This group shipping is good for all sets since only the shipping is divided, and everyone else covers the the cost of the actual set you're getting.

Well, the more people doing a group ship, the cheaper it will be for everyone, right?

So... who's gonna step up to the plate to do the repackaging and reshipping? If no one wants to do it, then I can, because I want to get this done ASAP as well.

So far: it's me, metafour, (Gin?), Reptile, (lightsout714), (mmmty?), tsangan, (rainb1ood?), and lyk503.

EDIT: priority padded envelope is ~$5, so that comes out to $13 total shipping costs per person for the 5 confirmed people. If all 9 listed above does it, it's $11.67 per person. BTW, here is the formula I plugged into excel if you want to follow my math: (25+((X-1)*(5))+((X-1)*(5)))/(X), where X is the number of people involved.

I can do it, because one of my parents works at the post office. But I would need to have clear cut numbers, and the faster it is organized (the people involved, the final prices, and the shipping destinations,) the faster I can ship them out. I have never done this before though, so I don't really know the protocol for this type of thing.

FYI, I sent a set of 104 caps to tsangan using USPS Priority flat rate box w/ tracking and it was $6.10.

BTW, something came up so I'm out :bolt:

Can we get the ball rolling on this? I guess I'll PM people to get it started. I made an excel spreadsheet to calculate all the costs, and with the 5 confirmed people so far, you save at least $12 on shipping. With more people, it'll be even cheaper.

Which flat rate box did you send it in? Medium flat rate box is $11, the small one is $5, but it won't fit inside the small one. I think shipping in a USPS padded flat rate envelope is probably the best choice. $5.10, includes tracking.

Ah nm, I didn't know you already bought it since you were still responding to the shipping rates.

Sorry about that. What do these come in? A 104 set should fit in a small flat rate box. Unless they come in a big box. I think even if they come in two of those small kbc boxes I think they could fit in a small flat rate.

104 caps will definitely fit in small flat rate box with keys in plastic bags. I just think the box offers better protection than padded envelope.
Since I'm not in the GB, you guys can do what you want :)

this is what I have so far in excel, every box is pretty much an equation to generate these costs. I just plug in your name and which set you order and it will adjust costs for everyone. Let me know if anything is wrong:

If anyone else still wants in, let me know before the last person (of the 5 confirmed) pays. Once the last person pays, I will submit the group shipping order.

Is the non-stepped CAPS LOCK key still going to be an 'off' color? Ugh I really want to do this group buy, but that caps lock would be such an eyesore.

See, I just don't understand this. The \| key also is "off colour". Right now, my unicomp is staggered black/gray, and all the modifiers are black, except capslock, 'cause it broke in the mail. I really like the look.

Or perhaps just do what the OP says:  $51 plus shipping ($15 or $25) and your address AND phone number PP'd to imsto@163.com    money gets the quickest response usually.

Mentioning what it is you're trying to buy might help too, but that's not in the OP  ;)

I wish those keys and cherry pics are included too, but I doubt it. The sets are 105 keys, and from the pics imsto posted, it's just the normal 104 set with the extra CAP lock. No other additional keys are included.

I know, because it's a key, not a modifier. I'm just saying with the capslock being the wrong colour, it doesn't look half-bad, even though it doesn't make as much sense. I don't really need my modifiers to be coloured (or printed, either) because I already know where they are, but I don't mind the looks of having it this way.

That said, ironically enough, on my unicomp, capslock is the only modifier that's gray, because the black set I had ordered, that key was broken.

B'sides, it's such a popular key to change, I sort-of like the thought of it being different. That way, everyone KNOWS that it's your control key (or whatever)
