Look at KBDRUNNER. He has SHARP 90° corners. Not rounded. Obviously, sharp edges are possible.

Melissa told me the smallest cutter they use for doubleshots is 0.012".

Possibly in for a set. The "T" on the Alt key looks more like a "+"; that is the only thing keeping me from buying this...although I might get it anyway if other people disagree.

Well, this COULD have been made exactly as the original font, but whatever. It just annoys me when people blame SP for the few things they actually aren't responsible for screwing up.

I like the + for T, but the T ought to be a + as well as C+RL. Just sayin'....

Actually no, if you look at the wikipedia entry, the Exocet font while primarily an all-caps font has substitution for T/+. So while it may be a little odd, it is correct and true to the font.

Yes, notice how all the sharp edges are inside corners of the legend, or outside corners of the keycap/background.

On the bottom of V the inside corner will be sharp, the outside not so much, same with the Q intersect and a ton of other legends (<>DBER ...)

I think Diablo mostly uses the uppercase T though, which is the most readable option.

Edit: Diablo also uses smaller sizes for lowercase, which could be done on Esc, Ctrl and Alt.

I was simply registering my design preference for consistency. I would prefer that all of the Ts be T or +

Yup. My guess is legends like that were not made with the same machine they use to cut our custom SVGs.

The limitation isn't the size of the drill bit, but the doubleshot process. Anything smaller than 0.012" won't allow plastic to flow through the design. This means we can't go smaller than 0.012".

And because of this limit, we cannot get the details that are the ends of the characters in the font.

Which color were the keycaps planned to be, btw? You said dark grey, but it would be nice to know how dark (I don't have the sp color palette lying around either, so I can't really check if there are even more than one option D: ).

Jung has decided to get prototypes, to see how the font turns out and to test out some different color combinations! Once those come back we'll decide and put up order threads and whatnot. We're leaning away from ragnarock set's colors (RA on NN). We want it to be different as well as we don't feel those colors fit this set perfectly.

Im not 100% sure, need to check. But I'm going to say its going to be off center. The whole point of the stepped caps is so it will fit boards with off center stems.

But at least Koreans might order it, too, so with let’s say 50 orders it already is more than acceptable (for me), and it should be fairly easy to reach that number. I don’t know how the 10key/10keyless ratio is in Korea, though.

Much like the nav cluster, the 10key will probably be normal font, same color scheme. It's better to have some kind of matching 10key than none at all.

If we get enough, the 104 set might only cost $9-20 extra compared to the 87 key set. I think anyone who has a full size or a tenkeypad should just jump on it

That's true, but depending on how much interest there is from Korea the numpad would just cost 5-10$ extra with the "right" legends, and roman numbers are just bucking awesome. :-P

Yeah if we wanted the exocet legends on the numpad (e.g roman numerals) We'd have to pay maybe $10 more (very rough arithmatic in my head). But obviously with more people this cost gets lower and lower.

I was nearly ecstatic when I saw the initial image. I've loved the Exocet font since my Diablo 2 addiction waaaaay back during my middle school days. Then the sad reminder of the legend limitations in shape. Until I see the prototypes, I'm gonna have to remain on the fence for whether I'll be in for a set. I absolutely love the idea, but I'm just afraid of the elegance of this font being lost with all-rounded serifs. Also, whoever came up with the roman numerals row, I wanna buy them a beer

Ultimately, I would be in for a 104 set if the prototypes turn out nice. Maybe 2 if the gf likes it too ^^

We are prototyping the letters E M and W. At two stroke widths and with different colors. So I think you'll get a good idea what it'll look like (I reckon my approximation in my sample image is pretty close).

It's totally worth your money to get the whole set eh ; P. I don't think we'll offer it separately, but maybe someone less keen on them and uses the normal window keys will sell you them from their kit.
