Is there a Universal Bluetooth Add-On out there?
« on: Mon, 29 June 2020, 10:45:14 »
Like TMK's USB-USB converter, the idea is to minimally add Bluetooth + Li-Po to existing keyboards out there

The design I have in mind is very primitive, you patch the controller + li-po side by side to the underside of most keyboards with feet, for the ones that don't have feet, just put them inside and peek the antenna out - the connectors would be thin ones, and I'm guessing from the # of keyboards out there, the highest demand would be a mini-b solution

A good bonus would be to have reprogrammability like the TMK USB-USB converter

Does it sound doable? Does it already exist?

Here's one but I'll bet there are a lot more out there.

It would be really cool to be able to plug in an external bluetooth chip into the existing port on any keyboard to make it wireless!

The problem is that the controller inside the keyboard probably consumes power continuously, so you most likely wont get great batterylife. Totally doable tho.
