Got my board yesterday. Best board I have ever owned. Period.

Only wish I had bought more than one now :P

I got my board today! TBH the whole board looked clean and flawless, and I was one of the few that were last to choose a board. Didn't notice any marks when I looked around. I did find one when I actually had to focus and look up close looking for marks. It's a shame that bottom brass weight had some weird black markings, but it's the bottom and will never see it. Overall super clean board. It blew my expectations away, because I thought I was getting a more ruined board.

Given the fact that most of the boards are fine and people is very happy I hope that xondat continues with his plans and goes for the X75. I would love to join that one...

I have only received my grey board for now and there is barely any defects/scratches/dents. Some of the defects that xondat mentioned is pretty much just some blemish that I can easily clean with micro fiber cloth. Hoping my black board is in the same condition.

tbh there is more actual scratch & dings on my Fjell compared to the X60.
Please feed my addiction.

This looks incredibly nice. Which colour is that? It's really tempting to buy one, I have to admit. QC and the prodcut itself seems to be top-notch.

Word of advice: Avoid using zeal60 Rev2 if you don't wanna mill/dremel your USB port. The connector placement on the PCB interferes with the usb port cuttout on the bottom piece of the case.

Are you using Rev2? If you did that's pretty ballsy.

Yep, brand new Rev2.  If you look at the USB connector while fitting the case together, you can see it's only a millimeter or two that it needs nudged to clear the hole so the case fits together, and once it's clear it fits fine without any stress on the pcb at all.  I've swapped plates a couple times now and as long as I'm conscious of it while assembling, it doesn't worry me really at all.

Looks like a Revo Numpad, the keycaps are an old Desko set (unclear if it's from a Desko board or a BSP set)

I also had this issue wth Zeal60 Rev.1 as well. I was able to assemble the case by not using the two plate screws in the top left hand corner (near the usb port). Obviously, not an ideal solution but it works

Hmm interesting, does that plate flap around or no when you hit the keys near that corner?

Edit: Thanks for the suggestion! I used some VHB type to counter the slight flapping from ESC to 3 key and it did the job :)

I dont' feel any flapping around, but I also have the very unique issue of one of my screws breaking inside the screw hole so I dont really have the option of opening it up again

I dont feel any flex with my steel plate at all though, so that's good

Had some time to build this guy up!! Went for something a little different; ISO layout and lubed zealiostotles. This thing is CRAZY to type on and apparently very loud and annoying for my teammates over discord  ;D. Even more excited for the brass plate to pair with my zeal60 whenever it's available. Also, like everyone else, my case is near-perfect aside from a surface scratch that can only be seen if you angle it against the light and really look for it. Thanks again Xondat, you did an excellent job.

Mine got built on Friday, forgot to post pics until now.

Dark gray HHKB X60, R1 Zeal60, R4 67g lubed Zeals, R1 Zeal stabs, Sky Dolch (Plum later today) and a Booper Silver Linings cap.
Love it

Stunning. This looks super cool! I guess this confirms that I have to look further for a Dark Grey HHKB X60! Did you encounter any issues with the Zeal60 like previously mentioned?
Funny you mention the PCB. I had to cut the usb port hole on the X60 to let the PCB actually fit LOL
Alright. That's a shame to hear.

Should have read what I posted a few days ago.
Just read my last sentence again: [...] like previously mentioned. That one says that I've read what you guys posted about the Zeal60 issue.

Keep the buildlogs coming guys!
Love to see all the stunning x60 builds =)

On a side note, have all boards been shipped Xon?
I missed the deadline for choosing my 3rd board and didn't receive neither shipping confirmation or board.

No pressure just want to make sure it's all good

I know of at least 2 people who have yet to receive shipping notices.

Thanks man!

Was slightly concerned, since my other boards arrived within one day.

If anyone was wondering how quiet MX Silents are, I took a video of a typing test with my 62g lubed MX Silents in my X60:

Hey Xondat, not sure if you saw my email. Just curious if there is an estimated time line on getting the replacement parts for my keyboard.

I'd like to know since this GB should already have been over for me.

Thanks for sharing- that sounds really nice and quiet.

Curious- how does the bottom-out feel on them... solid or a little squishy?

That sounds really nice and relaxing, perfect for the office. How'd you source the switches?

I was able to get some through mechanicalkeyboards.com when they were in stock a few months ago. I believe there's a GB running for the Black MX Silents right now at Novelkeys

I quite like the bottom out, they're not squishy -- just dampened

What... I barely heard anything. This would be perfect for someone who needs quiet keyboard.

I ran a direct comparison, and although I do love the MX Silents, using QMX Clips on PCB Mount Blacks (I don't have the Plate Mount ones) are a better feeling, IMO.

MX Silent > MX Vintage Black > Everything Else

My heart sunk when I couldn't unscrew the last two bolts. Both have a slightly bigger holes so my screwdriver just can't do anything. Now my X60 is just a beautiful kit that I can't open up. I might look for other screwdrivers in my local bike shop but I don't have other solutions I can think of. Any help would be appreciated.  :( :( :(

[update] I will post on Craigslist to see if I can find someone to fix it.

I'm letting go of my X60 with one stripped screw. There will be a WTS post tonight with a proper timestamp.

Really sad that this isn't going to be my end-game board. It's the perfect form factor for me and I really hoped I could build it for the past year. I was not able to extract the screw myself and hoped to pay someone local who has more experience dealing with hardware issues. I'd imagine the last resort would be just drilling a hole. But I've got other priorities in life so I have to stop trying at this point. If nobody thinks they can fix it, it will end up being a switch tester/keycap gallery here.
