Halo sucks.

I think it started sucking about halfway through the third one.

I've only played the first one on PC and it was kinda like Quake Lite.

Halo was originally developed for the Mac and was announced at Mac World 1999-2000 (not sure which one) at the Apple press conference by Steve Jobs, Microsoft then later bought the whole studio when they needed an exclusive for the Xbox.

The sound of springs buckling first thing in the morning.

Some of the other kids in my highschool are doing this, but on a much larger scale. The one who lives in a mansion has a huuuuge yard, so they have a lot of room to work with, and there are like 10 kids doing it, so they all ordered boxes to their houses. Just the kid who lives in that house ordered 25 of the 25 boxes, so thats 625 boxes to his house, and the others have ordered about 100 each

Halo sucks.

I think it started sucking about halfway through the third one.

I believe it started sucking the moment Microsoft bought Bungee studios and forced them to rewrite the almost complete PC game for Xbox.

Didn't the game come out on Xbox first? Or was there a Bungie "not Halo" game out before the first one?

Nope. It was being developed for PC and Mac, so shall we rather say "Personal Computers":

See any Macs with GeForce2 GTS cards in? It was unveiled at Mac World and then shown at E3. Was close to completion, I believe, when MS bought them and forced the rewrite for Xbox which delayed it a fair amount. The PC version then came out way, way later.

I had a GeForce2 GTS in my PC... I was waiting for the release. I eventually played it on a GeForce4 IIRC, and was rather disappointed in the console-like experience.

Still, yep though.... Bungee was a well know Mac developer and one of the few making decent games for the platform at the time. While they did make PC games they were more known for there work on Mac... so yep!

console-like experience ^^

Just to clarify, I'm aware it was both a PC and Mac game, but given the press it got at Mac World I assumed (rightly or wrongly) that the Mac sku would be the lead one and while the PC would benefit on the hardware any limitations would be due to the game being developed for the Mac systems which are essentially more powerful consoles.

On 'Did You Know Gaming Halo' it's aluded too that when Microsoft where in talks to buy Bungee, the team were in finncial trouble to some extent, had they remained solo and put out the game on Mac and PC the game might have had to have been scaled back and changed to fit with a smaller budget.

On a related note, intelli's video on the backlight modes of the new KC104 RGB.

Dude, this video is so awesome. Partly due to your editing and explanations, partly to do with the keyboard.

So glad I'm getting one of these, I was smiling the whole time I was watching it :D
