This seems like a touchy subject because I doubt the artists of the community, who pour so much time and effort into their work, want some loser nobody, like that guy dr_alphabet, talking **** about their work.
That being said, I really don't care much for the great Bambino's horse ...thing. Pegasus? idk.
....and i think clacks are severely over rated, which is, like, blasphemy to some people. deal with it, nerds.

These keys on the Model-F XT. The "+" key on the numpad is 3u tall, but only with 1u of usable surface area. Good think they are so moddable.

I really dislike GMK. The plastic they use in terms of thinness are not to my taste. Not really a big fan of their profile either. Clacks are definately overated but I still want one :p

Can't do SA; the typing experience is POOP, but the sets look great in pictures. DSA I only like on Ortholinear boards. I will usually buy a keyset if I like the color scheme rergardless.
Cherry profile is my usual go to for anything else; the manufacturer doesn't mean that much to me.
Brownie points for any profile if it's PBT though.

Don't really care about other layouts that people use. I personally think it's great, but I get why people prefer others. I use the HHKB layout and a standard ANSI TKL daily, I do prefer the HHKB, but I get the ANSI TKL.

But you can also find our what you really want by talking about something you do not like. I start this thread just wanna make our vendor or artist make out better work that belongs to a geek not merely for a computer user.

DSA and SA are trash profiles
My GMK is still holding up fine after years of use, and it doesn't have gross mirror shine because I wash my hands regularly like a normal person.

Actually, I can't say that I like Topre. I've yet to try one, being a guy that prefers linear switches. I can't say I haven't been curious but have lacked the desire to drop cash on one.

The Topre is a lovely switch when properly silenced. And I say that as someone who is pretty devoted to linear switches.

The Topre is good to others. Especially to your roomate or family wife...girfriend, But the Cherry or gateron is good for me. ;D ;D. I like the sound ,when I click the keyboard. ;D ;D

From the ones I have used, cheap thin abs in general. Sadly this is what most keyboards come with out of the box it seems.

Anyway, SP's caps aren't universally thin. DCS is, but SA is the exact opposite, for example.

SA is still not as thick compared to GMK, it's just that there's so much volume in the cap due to the high profile that they don't feel flimsy.

I despise keysets like TA Royal Alpha with what I guess you could just call alt legends? Not sure of the proper term, but it's usually incredibly cluttered and just doesn't look good to me.
The fact that it's usually a mix of doubleshot and dyesub/printed makes it even worse.

I do not like most artisan key caps, I have nothing against the craftsmen that invest time and effort in them; but, the value they add to a mechanical keyboard is questionable. By all means, I respect people that invest money in them and collect them, they are not for everyone, though. I have seen great examples of beautiful keyboards that do not need an artisan to look awesome.

Thin ABS, DSA, and SA. I like my caps THICC and DSA profile is too low for me.

I don't get all this hate for thin keycaps. I have a 11800 with thin lasered pbt, and think its pretty good (probably the cherry profile and pbt aspects of it). I think that dsa looks oddly deformed, but it supports nonstandard layouts, so I have some respect for it. I really don't understand the disinterest in dcs and g20 (particularly g20 because it seems like it offers a lot at its price point).

It doesn't seem that many people have tried G20.

I generally hate all keycaps. Keycaps are for poofs. Real men touchtype on stems. Non-functional artisans are awesome, I use them for the ESC key ... escape is for cowards anyways, real men go frontal assault.

Honestly, having jumped back into WoW, I had a much less painful time on DSA than on SA. The extra height while key-mashing the number row was noticeable in extra forearm pain with SA that wasn't there on DSA or Cherry/GMK.

Maybe I don't like the keyboard which press hard.. That maybe related to switch but keycap is important too. Each time when I click the laptop keyboard,my finger never feel good. Maybe that is because the keyboard of my company is good or press light.

^ This, I also like uniform SA but find the sculpted SA too "sculpted".
Oddly enough even though I like uniform SA but I'm not a big fan on DSA.
I also don't like Cherry Profile. So I'm definitely in the minority.

IMO, some profile works better on specific switches. Like lower profile caps are best for heavier switches which lessens the key travel. But thats just me.
My daily driver has gateron browns and with oem caps, and i have mx blues with dsa. I dont like using my dsa caps on lighter switches i.e. Browns and reds
