Really like the overall look, the only thing holding me back is that I have to shell out so much extra just to get the spacebar kit.. especially when the base kit looks really incomplete without the colored spacebars.
Is it just me or does anyone else face this dilemma too?
Yeah I think a lot of sets are moving coloured spacebars to the spacebar kit rather than base - I personally think it (and most other sets with accents) look better without coloured spacebar, with Esc, Enter and maybe coloured arrows being enough for me. But I know a lot of people would be in your situation, it's just always difficult to chose what keys to keep in the base kit and what keys to cut. Like if you have one 6.25u blue spacebar in base, then what about the 7u one or the ones in pink too? A lot of sets have been cutting out numpads from base in order to try and be more competitive in pricing, and i know a lot of people have been upset about that too.
I'd be getting the spacebar kit anyway for Alice compatibility, so perhaps you could sell the other spacebars you don't want later on. You can probably sell it for what you paid for it easy.
yeah no doubt, I've bought quite a few GMK sets over the years, but it's rare to run into a set where the base feels 'incomplete'. Definitely is a personal preference thing, I was just wondering how many people may be holding back due to the same reasons, as when I shared this GB with my friends the feedback were largely similar.

Space bars being separate are typically how most sets get ran. I don't personally like using accent space bars and originally I wanted to do the base without accents, but I didn't receive any feedback regarding kitting with the accents/novelties so I left it in base.
I've no problem with how you made the sets, please don't misunderstand. In fact, it could even be interpreted as a smart business move to make the base 'incomplete' and charging an add-on for what may be considered essential (looking at you Apple).
No but seriously, looking at this set what came to mind was GMK Noel. To me personally, the overall minimalist white aesthetics are complimented perfectly with the pastel colors, but having too little of it, like the Fuyu's base, may give off a feeling of incompleteness to some.
Again not criticizing. More of just voicing my thoughts out loud to decide if I want to get this set or wait for the Noel (:
