Finally got the time to attach the plate. This being the first time desoldering switches ended up really taxing the patience and frustration. Took way longer than I had expected and was really miffed not getting it done during Saturday. Might be a bunch of other first-timers are doing this too but it's just to keep calm, add more solder and keep trying to find where that solder is stuck invisible to see even with a magnifier. But I persevered and finally succeeded removing the plate.
Some flaws in the design that I noticed:
1) The cutout for the Caps lock LED is a bit off. It fits but just barely.

2) The Poker II has two leds under the spacebar that do not fit through the too slim gap in this custom plate.
Compare the original and the custom:

The original plate puts the LEDs there:

But I just love this. Wish the Tex plate had a deeper red but it works and definitely shows through the keycaps.
Having done this now I am not certain I wish to to this again with a Ducky Mini as it has LEDs everywhere. They are truly horrible trying to desolder as the holes are so tiny it's a tight fit from the start. As it's difficult to get all the solder off they end up sticking to the plate unless you apply heat and pull at the same time. It's _difficult_ to pull and apply heat to both legs at the same time... Any tips are greatly appreciated.
