JER PLANT - J80 (JER-A06) Round 2 "Electrophoresis White"
The J80 is a OG Cherry style(no plate) custom 80% kit.
It is characterized by the fact that the hoisting PCB has no steel plate and can fully reflect the elasticity of the linear shaft. Tested by the buyer, its feel and typing sound are different from other custom keyboards and are satisfactory. It has a simple and elegant original cherry-like shape, the author's original intention is to start from the touching feel, let everyone have a comfortable tapping experience. The light stick module in the upper right corner is detachable, it could be switches (3 keys) or the light stick module. When using light stick module, PrtScr Scrolllock and Pause are achieved by pressing FN+ Insert / Home / Page Up.

We had a good response from last year's J80 R1 GB. Check the links belows for more details on J80 R1
J80 R1 GB https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=96264
J80's debut on GH https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=90589
However, due to the tight schedule and the number of orders in China at that time, in order to ensure the quality, 40 sets were limited. On the same day, the group was cut off. Later, due to the author's personal PAYPAL problem, a small part of the order was cut, and I would like to say sorry to all the people who has any trouble with J80 R1 group buy.
At the end of this month, we will bring you a new surface treatment process of J80 - electrophoresis white and anodized J80.
Electrophoresis is characterized by a delicate surface and durability, and this time the electrophoresis white is the same as the white craft used in the previous JER MINI, but there is still a little difference. In order to make it look more retro, the factory opened a brand new processing pool - it will be a slightly yellowish milky white color, compared to the micro-arc gray of j80 R1, both the texture and the color itself have a great upgrade, check the following pictures for a compariation of the micro-arc gray in R1 and the new electro white in R2.
[attach=3]
For Round 2 there're 3 colors to choose from: electrophoresis white, black (anodized), dark gray (anodized). Due to cost, electrophoresis white will be slightly more expensive. This group will no longer provide J PAD or provide J80 NCR color matching, because the author is trying to do some new process J80 NCR color matching which takes some time.

Let's take a look at the photos taken by the author and other owners.

Interested 100%
Where can I learn more about the PCB? What is planned for firmware & supported layouts?
-
Oh YES I am very interested!
At the end of this month, we will bring you a new surface treatment process of J80 - electrophoresis white and anodized J80
This is not when the GB is planned to go live, right?
-
WOYOULAILE WOYOUZOULE :-\
-
So in and been wanting one of these for a minute!
-
Is there any price estimation?

Definitely interested!

The new finish looks very nice. Indeed a good upgrade from the previous MAO. Will you post the Group Buy here?
-
Very cool.
-
That swappable module is neat too, although I'm not sure I'd ever need to know that my numlock was on for my TKL. Do people actually use a staggered numpad in a sublayer? That's insane to me.
-
Is the PCB programmable with QMK or bootmapper this round?

R1 used Bootmapper Client

Bootmapper Client means ps2avr, right? I'm interested in something that will work with PS/2. Seems like this board would be a great fit since it's got that old school cherry vibe.

Finally ;D

Innerested.

lit

Any possibility of buying just a PCB? I have a G81 case I'm planning on cutting and painting, and this PCB seems very faithful to the original dimensions (so it would fit better than a plate)
-
Interested!
-
Interested.
I wish there would be like F row or layout toggles so that the light module will actually be useful.
-
Nice!
-
Very interested in the grey.
-
Just take my money, I will definitely interested in the white!
-
Any idea on number of units?
-
Question for OP: Could the author or you send me the PCB mount hole layout so I can integrate them into future versions/a special version of h87a?
-
Hot.
I always admired your R1. Very excited, will follow closely and do my best to join :thumb:

Something around $420, which is about the same as R1.
-
Question for OP: Could the author or you send me the PCB mount hole layout so I can integrate them into future versions/a special version of h87a?
OP does not have it, might need to ask PCB maker for it.
-
Nice product, I've seen it once and it became supa attractive to me for the old school cherry design.
This made it almost fit for every dope keycap sets, great to display and play.
Electro white is exciting, just wonder how much it will cost and when the GB gonna start.
Missed R1 and this is my best time to join.
Love it, shut up and take my money
-
Wow, I like itï¼I think I will pay for it
-
so happy to see that this will have a r2, i'm 100% in for this. will the gb be limited like r1 or will it be unlimited?
-
The white is looking mighty hot. I'll be in for one if my wallet is ready.
-
My body is ready.
-

I would be interested if hiney could do this.
-
Love it.
Any idea about the price?...never mind, I see the answer above
-
I'm not into TKL's but this is amazing. Hope I can get one.
-
YES!

Agreed. Bootmapper is awful to use. A QMK powered PCB would be a vast improvement.
-
J80 YES! I've achieved J80R2 in grey paired with GMK HONEYWELL, perfect match and perfect touching in vintage look.
-
Interested, especially if I can use a hiney pcb.

Bootmapper is extrememly simple and easy to use. However, the fact that winkeyless is gone makes the program much less desirable. QMK is the future for sure, but bootmapper isn't "awful"

Having options in this GB for both the original bootmapper PCB & hineybush's QMK PCB would be ideal.

I'd have to do a custom/one-off for this as the Fn row spacing is different than the h87's targeted use. Would also have to work on the indicator stuff but that'd be trivial

Been waiting for this!

This is a gorgeous keyboard.
Can you tell me what shade is this keyboard from the first round:

I think it is the non-dark gray?

Please hiney, OP was nice and left a little gift for you end of the OP post ^-^

a PC version would be so niceeeeeee

a PC version would be so niceeeeeee
At that point might as well just get an OG Cherry case my man
-
This is dope, I'll probably join the GB
-
ISO supported in this one as well, right? I'll probably join.
-
Sad that the J-pad is not happening this round.
-
Sad that the J-pad is not happening this round.
There's probably a couple floating around unbuilt. I know my annoyance with the usb cable shaving/soldering and indecisiveness in choosing switches for the build has my J-pad sleeping in its box unsoldered.
Looking forward to hiney's potential aftermarket PCB. I'm letting my gf use the JER-A06 to game with, so I figure it's only a matter of time until the board gets to drink a cup of coffee.
-
I'm about to buy a KBD 8x mk ii when the next GB comes up, but this is seriously competing for attention with it.

There's no competition. The J80 is a much superior board.
-
I got the MAO version in R1 and absolutely love it.
The PCB mounted design offers a unique typing experience.
-
can we get other pics instead of the glamour shots?
Hard to tell how will grey or gark grey will look and are the whites new e-whites or R1?

yes, ISO is supported.

If I understand correctly, the NCR is being developed for a future use, but not this round? I wonder how the dark grey/white combo would look.

I have the silver one from the original Chinese GB, but still tempted to get the white one. This board is fantastic to type on!
@OP: Could you spare some time and update the progress on the Jer Mini GB? It's been white a while since the last update.
-
What kind of switches are people using with the JER-A06?
-
100% in on this in white. When is the GB expected to begin? Will the board be limited? Really want to have a chance to purchase!
-
Very nice case design. Looks great in WKL with indicator lights.

GB will start soon, no limitation on numbers of this run.
-

must be linear as this is plate-less board. Do not use tactile switch.

You can use tactile switches if you want. There is nothing wrong with it, just that people usually prefer tactiles with stiffer plates.
-

Tealios V2 on my R1 JER-A06. I like it a lot.
I'm definitely in on this GB! Gotta get that dark gray one. :-*

Hi MajorKoos,
I saw that you built a JER-A06 with Zilents. I am considering a similar build. Can you tell me, how did it work out?

Hi MajorKoos,

It's Very subjective, but ...
It's my #2 favorite keyboard to type on.
#1 is a Norbaforce with BKE ultra lights & SP SA profile caps.
#3 is a Mira SE with an ALU plate and Healios.
#4 is a LZ MP with a PC half plate and Sakurios (the PC half plate feels similar to the JER-A06 and works well with the linear switches).
The caveat is that I used V1 Zilents.
I'm not a fan of V2 Zilents, so if I personally were to build another I'd choose Healios/Rosélios/Sakurios.
Or better yet, 62g V1 Zilents if I could find them.

Common concensus used to be the exact opposite, funnily enough. As if to say, it comes down to Preference™
I thought I had accounted for all of my keyboard purchases this year, but the J80 is making me rethink that...
-
Woooow!
I want one in white. I’m in for a v2!
-
I like this simple style design, hope I can buy it.
-
Colour me interested! Love this in grey
-
It would probably be best to close this IC or show that the GB order period has already concluded.

Damn it! I did not see :( !
Sad, I wanted one
-
Too bad the GB wasn't linked in the IC. I'm sure many people missed out, including myself.

Well that really sucks, I was looking forward to this. I really wish it was a rule on GH to a) comment, updates the first post and close the thread once the IC had finished, and then do the same with GB threads. Post-GB conversation (once the pay in round had finished) should be a new sub forum.
Nothing sucks now than opening a GB thread, seeing a really cool design then find out it closed 6 months ago
-
Would have been nice if the GB date was communicated on this post and also linked with the GB post.... Sucks that I missed out on this one... Was looking forward to it...
