Say Aloha (Hello in Hawaiian) to MechWild’s newest board, the Mokulua.

We have started the Group Buy for the Mokulua, an Alice-like 65% split keyboard that is meant to be affordable while still being packed full of features. This group buy will run until March 14th. The price for both halves together with everything you need to build the kit is $60 USD. Fulfillment is expected to be completed in June.

This kit features your choice of color of FR4 top plate and matching PCB and then your choice of color of acrylic bottom. Everything else needed to build and use the kit will be included, with the exception of a USB C to USB C cable, which is available as an add-on for $4 USD. The Mokulua has RGB underglow, a comfortable Alice-like layout, USB C ports for the split connection, OLEDs for whatever information you wish to display, encoders for each side, and features a rectangular case design to make tenting even easier. The acrylic bottom helps make the underglow RGB LEDs more visible as well as make it easier to see the PCB if you wish to admire your own handiwork.

We named this board after the Mokulua islands, a pair of islands off the coast of Oahu. Sillyworld, one half of MechWild, lived on Oahu for about 9 years and made this board as way to commemorate that time and remember it fondly.

When purchasing the Mokulua, it is available as a mirrored split where the right half is changed up some with an unusual stagger, or a more traditional split right half that is in line with the stagger you expect from an Alice.

For this board, since the halves can be used individually, and in case you aren't sure of the mirrored layout, we have set up a secondary page to buy either half by itself if you would like.

Very happy to see a split Alice layout one.
I have an EgroDox kit but I never get used to the strait column layout of it. Split Alice would be so much nicer for me.
