I'm such a noob when it comes to this.

What plates do I order to replicate this? I want to have black top, clear middle, and black bottom.

Show Image

And  You will get a Black H-Beam separating the Function Row,  Num Pad, and Arrows. This inclued in Your Case Price  80 USD.

THe Plate...  IF I Should recommend a Plate for Your Black match,

1.   Black PCB + Clear Plate
2.   White PCB + Clear Plate   /    White PCB + White Plate
3.   Red PCB + Clear Plate  ?  Your favorite?
4.  Blue PCB + Clear Plate
5.   Black PCB + Clear Plate  /Black PCB + Black Plate

What is 'Black H-Beam'?

I'm guessing it's the H looking thing that would be put on top of the plate/pcb to seperate the arrows and cluster from the left side of the board. Black because it would be same material is the outer edges.

edit: wo I put the text into the wrong area. How to forum

howdy,

one quick question: since it's a phantom style plate... i suppose I can put this into a filco TKL case, or a Cm quickfire rapid? ( the 87% that is)
Very sorry if this is a stupid question...
I might be new here but I already came to apreciate the insane amount of work behind this.
So... thank you.

With another bar between the function and cluster.

Don't quote me on this though. It's just what I imagined when he described it.

Okay, maybe I'm missing it somewhere, but are the plates universal to support ANSI and ISO at the same time, or do we have to specify the layout in the order somewhere, Sprit?

Sprit? Any answer to this question?

Okay, now I understand completely. However, what I want is to have a clear middle acryllic layer.
So it would be something like this:
1st layer (top): Black
2nd layer (middle) : Clear
3rd layer (bottom: Black

Is this possible with this GB? If so, which parts do I order in the form?

Edit: Basically, I want something like this with clear instead of red

I'm curious about the plates. Do you have any photos of those?

Also, it appears that each plate has a different thickness. I'm not an expert when it comes to this, so I'm asking out of ignorance, but having a variance of 1.6mm - 5mm seems pretty wide. Am I wrong?

Good Morning Sir!   ;)      The Very Details will show  as I proceed the Production.

The 4mm thick Plate Usually Good for me,   Sometimes  5mm Thick Plate  Good, depends on the MX Switch's Spring, Kind of SW. Keycaps,  Etc...

4mm + 1mm Silicon(or, PolyProphylene) is another Good Combo, as We see in our Shoes.

Hi sprit or anyone who is kind enough to help a noob (I have never build a custom keyboard before).  Sorry I have a lot of questions.

I want to get a TKL ansi 1.25 regular QFR layout with ergo clear switches.

MX  Custom Springs     55g /  60g / 65g / 68g / 70g   :    110pcs = 8 USD

* What spring should I get for ergo-clear feel? Or do I have to get red/brown springs separately?

* Where can I get the tool to open up the cherry switches to mod the spring and lube?

Dupont    KryTox  104 Oil        20g bottle =  18 USD

* This 20g oil will be enough for building 1~2 TKL keyboards?

PolyAcrylic  5mm 15 USD
PolyCarbon 4mm CNC 35USD
Alu Metal 1.6mm CNC 35 USD
 Alu 4mm CNC 40USD.

* This is the most confusing part, as I only have QFR cherry and I have never opened it up.

Besides the feel (hard plate vs flex), will the different thickness make the keycap lower or higher than normal?

What would be an ideal plate to get for people who always bottom out. (and what would feel similar to filco or QFR?)

* To build this keyboard myself,  besides ordering everything from the form, I still need stabilizer, inserts, keycaps. That's it right?

Since the resistors and controller are soldered on, I just need to get a soldering iron to solder the clear switches onto the PCB/plate?

* Someone asked earlier in this thread but no one answers his question, if one were to get the LED as well, would it make it impossible to change the switches later on without desoldering?

* Also the aluminum case will be available after this group-by and ship separately?

I'd go all out and get the aluminum case instead of getting the plastic case if possible.

Thanks.
QFR brown x2, Realforce 45G, Type-S, Keycool 22 blue

* Also the aluminum case will be available after this group-by and ship separately?   Alu Case will come soon  in this GB, or ship Separately for it's Heavy.

I'd go all out and get the aluminum case instead of getting the plastic case if possible.
Why Metal?  to Get Physical?

Thanks.

This is so confusing, there are too many choices, put indecisive people like me in a difficult position.

If im ordering 1x60, 1x75, i believe i need to specify which plates for which?

If SW Spring is Under 65g,  I Recommend Acryl 5mm Plate,
If You enjoy the Power-Typing,  I 'd Recommend  Dura-Alu 4mm Plate !!
