Whoa! You've extinguished the last bit of indecision I had over which color to get.

Anyway, I submitted the form about a day ago (1 white 60% PCB, 1 clear acrylic plate). Should I be expecting an email or confirmation of some sort? (Sorry if this is a silly question; this is my first GB!)

Just read that you said you'll be sending confirmation emails... are you sending them imediately after receiving orders, or you just send them on the 23. when orders are closing? Because up till now I got no confirmation on the order... I do GB for the first time so please bare with me.  :)

That is what I was waiting for! Putting together an order now.
(For my hands, a thick PCB doesn't need a plate, especially with light springs.)

So I might order but I was wondering, do you have any estimate how much shipping would cost for a 60% pcb and 4mm thick aluminum plate? Thanks :)

Also, what color leds are available?

Sorry for asking again but I am thinking of ordering tonight but I just wanted to know how much you think shipping for a 60% pcb and plate to the US would be?

Also, what is the difference between the 1.6mm aluminum plate and the 4mm aluminum plate?

Thanks  :)

About 2.4mm by the look of it.

(I'll be here all week, folks!)

Spirit I'd be curious if you've weighed the two aluminum plates ... I'm thinking specifically for 60% but a comparison of any of them would be fine ... the thickness is 2-1/2x more, so is the weight pretty close to that much more, too? or does it work out that it's more, or less than that?

Thanks for your patience in putting up with all these endless questions from the forumites; I know it must get old but think of how famous the FaceW keyboard could be in twenty years

45489-0  My PCBs Support 1.5x 1x 1.5x

If SW Spring is Under 65g,  I Recommend Acryl 5mm Plate,

If You enjoy the Strong, Power-Typing,  I 'd Recommend  Dura-Alu 4mm Plate !!

Last question, for the 4mm thick one, since it is an aluminum and acrylic layer do I just tell what color I want each layer in the comments of the order form? I want the aluminum and acrylic layers to both be lime green, that is possible right?

Thanks for all the help, that is the last question I have :)

4mm plates sounds really thick.  Is anyone getting those as well?  What's the difference between PolyAcry and PolyCarb?  I know they are different materials, but has anyone used both?

Edit: Ordered!

http://www1.kbdmania.net/xe/freeboard/7302594

The Maximum thickness for MX is 5mm.    In this GB,

1. Acryl Plate : 5mm (5T) thick :  In My Opinion :  Strong and Soft, Rigid enough ...
2. PolyCarbon : 1.6mm thick :  In My Opinion : quite Strong and flexible, ...

3. Alu Metal  :  1.6mm thick :  In My Opinion : Noisy, Not Strong enough, we know its pros and cons.
4. Alu Metal  :   4mm + 1mm PolyAcryl  : In My Opinion :   Armour itself.

Based on the pictures on that link it looks like the ALU sits on top while the acrylic layer is on the bottom between the aluminum and pcb.

Yeah, looks like that. I was hoping that it might have been the other way around. That would allow for some really interesting color combinations.

1 Lime Green 4mm backplate
Green Leds

I hope I filled out the form correctly. What happens if the backplate doesn't hit the MOQ? I REALLY want a lime green 4mm backplate :)

Having typed on both, I will say that PCB mount keyboard flex is pretty nice on a lot of keyboards.

I think the thin flexible polymer plates help to preserve this.

Remember: keyboarding is very subjective: the thickest / strongest is not always the bestest.

Sprit, for the $40 plate option, how do we let you both colors we want for each part?

I should have problem asked this earlier.

If I use a metal plate and metal case, can I even see the LEDs? (sorry for the newbie question)

If not I'll have to change my order...

Yes, that will have no effect on the LED visibility.

Pretty new to the PCB / Plate scene.

But I'm assuming the most 87% and 110% layout cases would fit right? Such as a DK9008G2?

Sprit, do you have anymore pictures of the 110% and 87% PCB, with the various plate options?

EDIT: Sprit, what's ETA for batch 2? Would MOQ still apply for Batch 2?

EDIT 2: Sprit, cancel my order for now. Will wait for batch 2 so I can make up my mind on all your awesome options!
