Hi sprit, what's the difference between the pcb mount and plate mount stabilizer? Is there a way change in feel of the switch? What's the advantage and disadvantage? Sorry, I try to search for an answer but I can't find a reliable one.

Thanks, also pm sent.

There have been a lot of discussions on Stabilizer Type among Korean Users.

To Summarize :

- PCB mount Type   :  Soft landing to PCB.   Sometimes gives a dull, too soft Key Touch to the Keys.  Slider has narrow feet and nails.
- Plate Mount Type :  Hard landing to PCB.  The Slider hits PCB more Clear. Slider has thicker feet and Flat. No nails.

- My Mods     :     Cut the Nails and Feet, mod PCB-mount Sliders as Plate-mount Sliders, giving them more Clear, Solid Landing.

How come there are only two pieces to the metal plate but their are three for the acrylic?

How can I order the case that supports the gh60 in the hhkb layout? I see it in the pictures but I want to make sure I order the right one. Also, where do I put this information in the form?

Yes. SMD/Through hole diodes will not be pre-soldered unfortunately. You'll have to do it yourself. However, if you don't mind waiting longer for your boards, you can have sprit do them for you.

This is just for the original Group 1 & 2 preorders.

You should be okay as long as you didn't order a 110%.

OK!  I will work on All Doides Pre-soldered By hand, For 60% and 75%  and 87% PCBs for 1st GB.

The Last Problem is the Resistors for LED.
I will ask Everyone on that in the Invoices or PM,  Who need this.  :)

The Estimated Time for the Soldering Resistors on a 60% PCB is  20-25 min for me.  All are Free!

And for the future...

For the 2nd GB Batch,  I am going to Produce Each 100pcs of Factory-Presoldered 60%, 87% PCB. [/font]
75% and 110% PCB are to be Hand-Soldered.

I got a 60% so I guess I don't have to worry then. I've done quite a bit of soldering before so if it's not too small and I get some instructions I should be ok.

So I see that cases are now included together with all the other components in the order form. Does that mean that we need to use that form even if we just want to order the cases? What happened to the MOQ forms for the metal cases?

Thanks for the work Sprit! I cant wait for the PCBs to arrive :thumb:

Hah, I was after the same thing, and ended up pulling the dimensions of the 110% from teh DWG on winkeyless.kr's 'site. It should be similar.

The numbers I got were 428.625mm * 122.7895mm, which should be about right.

I plan on screwing mine to a chunk of metal, and it looks like 0.25*5" round edge stock is about perfect. Getting it cut to 17" is pretty cheap online and should weigh about 1Kg. I'll drill and tap through holes, bolt the PCB on and call it a kb case.

Yes!  You are Right!   :)

110% PCB is  428mm x 123mm   a little bit Slimer in +- 0.5mm range.

Why It's a kb Case?

Apologies if this is in the thread somewhere but what are the dimensions of the PCBs on offer?  (Not % but actual dimensions in mm)

Thanks

GK

It's not in the thread.

So I see that cases are now included together with all the other components in the order form. Does that mean that we need to use that form even if we just want to order the cases? What happened to the MOQ forms for the metal cases?

Thanks for the work Sprit! I cant wait for the PCBs to arrive :thumb:

Hello!  MrChunky!  :)

Yes! One Order Form    :)    for better and quicker updates and management.
Metal Case MOQ Form is collected and I am reviewing the GeekHackers' Opinions.

You could go one step further and build my case. How are you planning to insulate the electrical components from the metal plate?  Standoffs?

Do I add a description in the order form?
Can I order it in metal?

Invoice paid, though I assume in the end shipping for two packs of springs will be cheaper?

Also, how's the progress on the AT/XT style PCBs?

sheet of plastic voltage protection material as well as some foam I get at the art store. I have a Pure that uses this style of case that I have used for a year I guess with no issues. As far as "your" case goes, I'd do it without the rubber feet (not necessary). I might go with a hard rubber pad instead of the art foam. We'll see.

are springs and LEDs required? i thought all MX switches come with springs in them. also do these use any GH60 PCB or a custom one?

Yes, all MX switches come with pre-installed springs. People here like to mod their switches by swapping out the stock springs (and apply lube/grease on sliders+springs)  to create a different switch feel so that's why there's such a wide variety of aftermarket springs :p
LEDs are not required. It's a personal preference.
The PCB uses a Korean custom one similar to ps2avr. It should still fit in the majority of cases.
