Title: [Group Buy] KBC Poker and KBT Race Limited Edition [Deadline: 6/30]

UPDATE (6/24): I don't know how I can express my feeling at this moment. They just told me, they only have White Race LE this time, and Pink Race LE will probably never gonna happen. They didn't even notice me before. I'll contact those 6 GHers who ordered a Pink Race LE to see if they need refund or chaning order. Dealing with KBC, KBT and Ducky really kills me. I rather deal with MKC eventhough his products usually have some faults. At least he's a way more reliable. Sorry guys, too many things happened in this group buy. Out of my control. The Poker w/ Brown and White Race LE should be shipped to me in the following days. White Race LE only has red and brown switches. No black and blue switches. They suuuuuuuuuuck!


UPDATE (6/15): These will arrive in China next week! And it will take about 3-5 days shipped to me.  


UPDATE (6/7): Race LE and Poker will be shipped to me at the same time. Most likely by the end of this month.  


UPDATE (5/31): I've confirmed with the manufactory in Taiwan and they said they will only get me some Pokers w/ brown switch. And I could only found one Poker w/ black switch on Taobao, fortunately there's only one black switch order. Anyway I just sent the PMs to those of you whose order contain the Poker w/ Red or Blue switch. And I'm waiting for your responses. I'm sorry about this happening and much appreciate your understandings.

UPDATE (5/27): Bad news from the manufactory. They only have brown switch left for the Poker. I'll try to get some from Taobao or somewhere else and I'll let you know the updates. And FYI the Race Limited Edition will be soon released. June 10 if they will do what they said.

UPDATE (5/12): I'll try to send out the Pokers by the end of May. And the Race Limited Edition will not be available until June. Sorry guys. :(

Hello all, it's me gain. :P

So here's my first time to do the group buy for keyboards. The reason I only sold keycaps before is because keycaps are easy to be packed up and shipped. Packing the keyboards would take me more time on it. Besides, there's a warranty thing I need to take care of. But now, I think I'm becoming more professional as a real seller,  it's about the time to bring over more keyboard stuffes from China. ^^


There're two keyboards available to order in this group buy: KBC Poker and KBT Race Limited Edition.

For KBC Poker, only 1 switches available: Brown.

For Race Limited Edition, 4 switches as well: Red, Blue, Brown, and Black. With 2 colors: Pink and White. Only 300 pieces of this will be made.

Features for Pink: white PCB, pink LED, pink case, pink keycaps, and pink box.

Here're some pictures for the KBC Poker and Race Limited Edition. Please notice that the Pink Race was supposed to come with Pink LEDs, but I don't know why this comes with orange LEDs. KBC told me that these are not the final product, they are just samples. So the Pink Race will still come with pink LEDs. Not exactly the same color as the pink keycaps, a little bit like between red and pink.

WARRANTY: The 1 year warranty for these keyboards will be taken care of by me. I directly contact the head of KBC for warranties.


The deadline will be June 30. I'll try to ship the Pokers to you guys before the end of May. Sorry about the extension of the deadline. The manufactory hasn't still made the Race LE out yet. :(

Sometimes the estimate shipping date not only depends on when KBC can bring me the keyboards, but also depends on the express company that I'm using for international shipping. Never ship stuffes from China during Chiese New Year! :( Last time it took me more than 10 days. Sometimes it goes pretty fast like 2-3 days.

Recently I'm trying to make each of my group buys as short as possible. I know many of you would much prefer this way, I do the same. I don't like waiting a looooong time for a group buy. So basically my group buys would be like 15-30 days. I'll try to make them no longer than 30 days. Easy for you, easy for me. :)

The keycaps will be ABS for both Poker and Race. I'm not sure if I can get any PBT sets as shown in iMav's group buy.

I do not know for sure, but judging by the picture it is most likely a blue LED! The PCB of the race is red (See img) so If any reflection was too be had by a white LED it should be red, not blue.

Yeah. That is not it seeing how the LEDs are blue and the case is black.

And I thought the special editions had PBT caps? Vortex confuses me.

That is not the limited edition white, that is a normal black Race with blue leds, and keycaps exchanged for white ones.

Very interested in this but would like to have a picture or two. I think I have found on eBay in the UK ones but they have black switches and I don't really want black switches but that one I think comes with PBT keycaps. If I can have a pic or two to see the texture of the keycaps would be nice.

POM keycaps on the Noppoo are fantastic though! love the slight roughness.

No problem, I just extend the deadline to the 25th, what I was told is that they will bring over the keyboards by 15th. So it is possible to get the board by the 25th.

Questions are always welcome. :)

I'm in US. And the processes of my group buys would be like:

1. Taking orders from GHers
2. Sending the orders to China
3. Waiting for shipping
4. Once I got the items, I would ship them to GHers.

Please notice that in my group buys, deadline doesn't mean when I send the orders to China. It only means when I stop taking orders. For example, in this case, if I get the items from China on May 15th, I will ship out in the following days. Meanwhile, I'll keep taking a few orders since I always order some extra for my eBay store (I'll mainly order some Red MX switches). And about the ordering time, I think I will send my Poker/Race LE orders to China before May 15th. So if any of you interested in a Brown, Blue or Black MX switches, you better get you orders placed soon since I'm not planning to order any extre for those three switches. :)

Shipping from China basically takes no more than 4 days if it's not in a period of holiday or something.

There was a thread with pictures of the pink LE, but I believe it got rollbacked >.< Seems to have had orange leds instead of pink.

Yeah, that thing with paypal and sixty is utter bull****!  But iMav didn't have that problem, as he followed paypal TOS, and billed the Races as merchandise instead of gifts.  I'm uncertain why I cannot find the thread here, nor have I received any PMs about the order though.  I think it was mid-April when iMav last said that the container was about to ship from China, and he had worked out how to get them through customs to avoid another Poker fiasco there.  2mos seems a long time to go without any updates--but iMav has been working his ass off just keeping geekhack alive, so maybe he hasn't had energy to spend on the GB.  I would like to know though.

Yes this is going on until the 25th which is when the TS will stop accepting orders and tell the manufacturer the total amount of things ordered

Poker is not a problem, KBC has some stocks reserved for me. Since there are few LEDs, yeah it's much easier to modify the switches.

I assume you're talking about the PBT version which used to have black engraved kepcaps and dark gold on black keycaps. But they're not in production anymore. :(

That payment steps are correct. And regarding the Race LE, I wish we could get it in the beginning of June. But who knows if I'll be informed another delay as they usually did? :(

I'll actually extend the deadline a bit, but I'll mostly ship out the Poker orders first. The Pink Race will still come with pink LEDs. Not exactly the same color as the pink keycaps, a little bit like between red and pink.

The reason I didn't send alert to GHers yet is because I'm still trying to get some Poker w/ black, red, and blue switches. So it's still possible to get. For now I've already got one w/ black switch, and fortunately there's only one order for that. I'm still looking for Poker w/ red and blue switches everywhere.

I'm sorry about this issue guys. If I can't get any red or blue MX Pokers, I'll either do the refund or provide some other options for you such as getting a Pure by adding some money.

Sure not. Race LE will be soon released and all switches will be available. :) Well, it's not that difficult to do all the switches yourself as long as you know how to use a soldering gun and stuffes.

It seems like stock for all of the KB+ boards is low or nonexistant. There are no Pure's in stock (I told you megnin! :smokin:) [jk], Pokers aren't being offered with all known switch types. It's rather depressing actually :'( . I hope that you are able to resolve everything Feng, and keep us posted if you end up doing a Pure GB in the future (even though there won't be any stock for at least a week.)

So at first delivery was supposed to be in middle of May. Then it was pushed to the beginning of June. Then delayed to 10th of June. Then delayed to "middle of June". Now it says "end of June". Are we in for another delay loop?

I know it's not your fault Feng. I'm just sick and tired of Vortex and their vaporware. I get that production can have delays but it just seems that Vortex throws out release dates they know they can't hold.

Their product page claims 5+ in stock, so take that for whatever you want. As for how they get them faster, I've been wondering the same thing about iMav's Race group buy for months now...I keep seeing those pop up on other vendor's sites while that group buy keeps getting missed shipping dates that string out for months at a time.

KBT, KBC are hard to work with. They never give you real picture for item, never tell you how much you can get (I can place a request for 50 board and I got 10 in delivery, it happened more than once), and so far every time they delay as least twice.

But, they had a such good demand from the market.

feng, I am hearing some worrying stuff from retailers that are importing Limited Edition Race, they are saying the boards are only available with Cherry MX Red, Black or Brown... I've heard this from two retailers now... you need to get on top of this and make sure MX Blue really are available :'/

Good news for people who ordered Pink version

Rabbit Web Factory/ (http://rabbitwebfactory.com/) have announced they will sell white and pink keycaps for $35.

So theoretically you can still get the Pink Limited Race by buying a white one and switching caps.

They don't have the caps in hand yet though, and I think we know to not rely on Vortex by now...
But you might want to stay updated with them if you already promised some girl the keyboard :P

just wanted to reply and say that i pm'd feng and we got everything cleared up, he was able to get me the stuff i ordered, and i totally stand by him for future groupbuys,  was just a miscommunication,  thanks!

W00t, my Poker arrived in Perth yesterday using slow mail ... AND I'M LOVING IT!!!! Now I want to get some PBT keycaps and even considering a new base :)
