Hello everyone Excluisve here

Two years ago we had our first 75% keyboard E7-V1 group buy. Since then we’ve received lots of PMs about next round of E7-V1. Finally we planned to reboot this series this March.

We had LED version for the E7-V1 and also said we might provide the name tag version in the future. Even the name tag is already a well known signature for E6-V2 and E6.5, it’s probably not appropriate to put name tag onto E7 series now as the market is full of various name tag keyboard designs recently. I wish this time will be a brand new design, so I just gave up using name tag again.

I really really love E7-V1, thus we kept the classic layout and clean design of E7-V1 on the new board. While redefining this keyboard to make it better suit my idea and meet keyboard enthusiastic’s pursue, we will name it E7-V2. And to us, E7-V2 will be the milestone.

Make sure to fill this form if you are interested:https://bit.ly/3naAkk7

                                              - PCB supports QMK + VIA, we will offer both solder and hotswap versions

                                              - Backplate: Aluminum,Brass (upgrade)

Colors :

We have so many colors that are possible to make, but it also makes people hard to choose the combination they want. To keep your choice easier and to make our GB and production time shorter, we will not offer arbitrary combinations of colors this time.
We are providing 9 candidates of color combinations, and there will be only 5 combos (that people voted most) offered in the upcoming group buy. Color renders :https://i.imgur.com/oRNdylC.jpg Left to right was :Black ,E white ,Space grey,Lemon yellow ,Baby blue,Liliac,Burgundy Red,Gem Blue,Camping Green

$540 for se ,limited to 70 raffle (individual numbers engraving with special backplate )
                                              - Lead Time: start at 6 months eta depens how many we saled. (E8.5 took so long to deliver, we will improve the lead time by optimizing our                                                                            production method)-E7-V2 quailty will be promote also better than E8.5
[/b][/color]

The structure:

More

1. We will be using daughter board for the USB port, to resolve the problem of USB port moving up and down caused by gasket mount system.

2. Separate the RGB panel on the front to avoid light bleeding
3. There will be a 3mm silicon dampening foam put between the plate and the PCB. The dampening foam will have extension
parts on both front/back and left/right sides. With such extension parts on all sides, we could totally avoid the plate touching the case. In addition, it will be much easier to align the plate/foam/PCB into the top case, even you haven't built any gasket keyboard before.
4. PC middle frame is used to allow underglow to shine through sideway, and it's also the bottom support for the gasket.
5. The popular multi-color crown LOGO from E6.5 is back! If you look really carefully, the LOGO on E7-V2 consists of three parts, therefore, it has the ability to let underglow shine through so it can light up.

6. Instead of o-ring gasket mount used on E8.5 and E6.5, we will be using rubber gasket on E7-V2. The main benefit using rubber gasket combined with leaf spring plate this time, is to provide excellent flexibility when typing (you have to try to know if you like this or not, after all, it's all preference). But the downside of using rubber gasket is that we have to give up PC plate as it might not be suitable for this structure. In addition, we have to optimize and test the design of gasket mount on the arrow cluster with multiple iterations, all due to the principle that we stick to from beginning: original layout on slim bezel. We will do more testing to find a good balance on the trade-off, stay tuned!

It's definitely a challenge and difficult thing to never compromise on the design, as well as keep iterating and testing on details within the limited space that we give to this board. But I believe this will ultimately pay off, on the day when you receive this wonderful keyboard: E7-V2 :)

The E7-V1 is one of my favourite keyboard designs ever so seeing this pop up was very exciting! However I'm a bit torn because the design is a lot more "busy" than the V1, which I found so appealing because of how minimal it was. Tempting for sure, but not an insta-cop for me.

Looks so good
75% with a good layout are few and far between (at least compared to 65 and tkl)

I'm glad to see this coming back, I hope the colours stay true to these renders.

E7-V1 was one of my first groupbuys and to this day is still my favorite board that I own, so this is a no brainer for me.

Will the PCB for this be compatible with E7-V1? I know you said probably not on discord when I asked before but just wanted to see if you had any updates there (it's terribly hard to find a V1 pcb nowadays)

Agree with this, assuming its just a mistake on the KLE as the plate renders show it

As much as I am interested in this board, doesn't it feel a little bit too pricey? Just comparing this from the v1 which was $350 and how it justifies the extra $85. Probably still gonna get it anyways
