And since I've already got two people doing this and I'm sure it's bumped me to the infinity box (med flat rate), if anyone that's got an order with klaxon through me already wants to just have me ship them together, I've no problem with that.

Phinix, talk to GeorgeK, I've a large order going to him with klaxon and he's having me ship his dsa order with it, he may be alright with me including your stuff as well.

any update on the DSA left stem stepped capslock?

it is available but we need the release to use it. I don't have it yet, I hope next week. Otherwise we will start production anyway and I'll have SP make the tooling ready for next round.

People who want stepped caps lock keys so that they don't hit them by mistake really need to rebind their caps lock key to something more useful! :P

kinda wanted to know this before paying, I know I'm being pushy on this and maybe others don't care as much but I really dislike misprofile on keys that are not esc, esc I can deal with since it's on it's own in the corner but a complete different profile on the capslock just throws it all off

Once again I know it's probably just me being an ass about it ;<

All orders are considered final! Now to invoicing.

what happens now

- We will make a final count of all keys and send it to Signature Plastics
- Signature Plastics will return us with the invoice
- This might take 24h so invoicing might actually starts tomorrow (Tuesday)
- The final price might still change a few bucks for so many reasons, so don't start sending money to your proxy yet
- The final price is the one you'll see on the invoice not the one on the order form. Invoce total takes into consideration last minute variations and special agreements you might have with samwisekoi (eg: no paypal fees for people who pay by wire transfer)
- Don't PM regarding your invoice. We didn't send them yet. When we start invoicing we'll put a clear notice on the forum

that is not DSA profile from my understanding, having a stepped key was never the issue it was it NOT being in DSA profile that was the issue

In the OP you say it doesn't come with it because SP doesn't have the tooling for it, so i show you a picture with it and you post a image as an response not sure what that meant, then i find out yesterday that there _might_ be a chance we get it but we won't know until after I pay

this really means a lot to i guess maybe only me lol

the only DCS keys are the ISO returns and the 6.25 universal spacebars (which most of you don't need because we also have a standard 6.2 DSA spacebar)

Just clarifying since the OP still states
Quote
NOTE: Left stemmed keys are in DCS Family not DSA!

Stepped keys in the size of 1.75 (one-point-seventyfive) units are in DSA family. Stepped key has the mounting point in the center of the left raised step (left stem'ed).

Now ask me again about the stepped key and I remove it from the GB :P

Sorry if did not update the OP properly, anything I say after the OP overwrites the OP.

Good.  We got some bounces, which means we can't invoice those people, and that means reduced order volume.

Who can guess what reduced order volume means?

<sigh>

Honest mistakes and complaining in the thread are well and good, but placing false orders?  What do the people who placed real orders with real addresses say we should do to/for the people who used fake addresses?

 - Ron | samwisekoi

Two things:

1. For Matt, make the next iteration of your software check email addresses in advance to prevent exactly this. I'm not complaining at all, just saying we should let all these little problems become instructive. so that future groupbuys are that much better.

2. If they are intentionally fake orders (not sure how to prove that) then ban them from future groupbuys. Intentionally trying to screw up a groupbuy is pretty low; pond scum sort of low. Suddenly discovering that you don't have enough money... that's flaky, and it happens, but it's not evil. If someone used 'YerGBIzGayzor@humptyhump.com' -- then yeah, try to find out who sent it in. Maybe the software can log IP's so we can track down who faked an order.

EDIT: Yes, I would support a ban. Maybe try to match up IPs from usernames to those who IPs used to fill out the form? Maybe tighter integration with the forum software would help?

What percentage of orders are experiencing a problem? 5%? 10% more?

I'm pretty confident that no one here would maliciously place false orders... not sure why anyone who may have mistyped their email address is being accused as such. That's a pretty disingenuous accusation.

To the former, I think we have to at least try to discourage bad behavior -- we may not be able to stop it, but we could at least find a way to impose consequences for bad behavior. As for the latter, I agree -- we need to be British about the groupbuy.

I hope you're right. Maybe it's just a case of mispellings, or fumbled typing (ironic).

Since the site was on the open Internet and had no integration with GH or DT to at least validate user names, anything is possible.  If a community member did actively corrupt the GB results, they can expect to be publicly flogged at the very least.

The reality is that there is nothing preventing 'Joe Random' from putting in a valid DT/GH username and a BS email.  There is no security or authentication on this form.  This would be a reasonable explanation as to the question of why to integrate this software with either GH or DT... would be intriguing to attempt both in the same code base.

I'm pretty confident that no one here would maliciously place false orders... not sure why anyone who may have mistyped their email address is being accused as such. That's a pretty disingenuous accusation.

I believe I said mistakes were not the issue here.  Checking now... Yep.  I said exactly that.

In fact I made no accusations at all, disingenuous or otherwise.  I asked the members of the group buy what we should do if such a thing occurred.

At the moment we know of one order that looks suspicious, and has both an invalid e-mail address and an invalid forum member name.  In that case the action I took was to (a) try and find a valid address and then (b) request the person who placed it to send me a PM if it was a serious order that happened to have invalid contact information.  Oh, it had an invalid ship-to as well.

I am not going to bother with accusations, disingenuous or otherwise.  If we can't contact the person who placed the order using the address they provided, we will try another way.  But if we can't invoice them, they can't pay, and that volume is lost form the group buy and we have to do something about that fact.

My intent was to give the members of the group buy information as it became available.

Please advise if you would prefer less information.
