Minimalist Ergodox case
« on: Sun, 08 November 2015, 16:49:49 »
So I decided to try my hand at modifying the Litster case.

My goal was to make my case fit on two sheets of 384mmx384mm sheets of acrylic while maintaining protection for the pcb, teensy, ports and I/O expander.

Now with keycaps.

I'm liking the way the "floating keys" turned out.

If people actually want them I would have no problem releasing them.

This board is actually for sale in the classified section.

I already have two ergodoxes but I enjoy building them.

Here you go.

What thicknesses did you use for the different layers?

4.5mm for middle layers and 3mm for top/bottom.

I also used:
  • 6x M3 22mm screws
  • 8x M3 14mm screws
  • 14x M3 acorn nuts

I realize you posted this design over 3 years ago. But I'm curious what your feedback would be after using this case design after a while? Any cons to it? Does it allow more grime in under keys?

Does it allow more grime in under the keys perhaps? Otherwise I'm looking at doing my first ErgoDox build and this minimalist case design is ridiculously sweet looking. Thanks!

If anything, its a bit easier to clean the board.

If you're interested in purchasing one... hit me up via my shop:  https://shop.profetkeyboards.com/contact
