Title: This forum will be merged into "Site Announcements" on or after 6/25
Post by: mkawa on Sat, 20 June 2015, 21:15:49: We are consolidating forums to clean up clutter on the frontpage. The merged forum will be renamed to "Site Discussion".

And feedback/suggestions was where users could offer feedback and report problems.

That's fair enough, but site announcements are generally important, and it's nice to have one area lighlighted which immediately indicates that there is an important site announcement. Those posts may be lost in the (admittedly fairly light) flood of feedback threads.
