Originative says my credit card was issued in China

I recently placed my 2nd order with Originative,  for a PBT classic beige set. The first was for a Dolch numpad last month which worked out fine.

I didn't get a shipping notification for a couple days so I emailed.  Sherry responded within 12 hours to his credit, but he said he was having problems with my order and asked why I used a credit card issued in China.

of course, my credit card is a plain BOFA Visa issued in the USA. No idea what he's talking about. I am waiting on another reply from him. Just wanted to share this odd story. Will post an update when I have one.

And since when a vendor should be concerned about where a CC was issued?

Yea I think it's a red flag for sure, especially when the order is placed from another country.

of course, the present problem is that my card is not, in fact, Chinese, and it's troubling that Sherry says it is. I'm not even sure how a plain Bank of America CC from Arizona could be mistaken for that.

either a simple but strange mistake, or payment processor shenanigans I think. Hopefully the former.

Does that website still use the unsecure buying method?
