Do plate clip-in stabs work in this board? I have ordered screw in stabs but due to shipping issues, they seem to have gotten lost in the mail.

I have two Key 65, two alu plates, one titanium plate, and one PC plate. One alu plate is thick and heavy, the other is thin and light. The difference is quite noticeable. Does anyone else have a thick alu plate? Not complaining, at all. Both sound great. Maybe my thick alu plate is actually brass.

The teal plate is much heavier and has like no flex, the black plate is very light and flexes a lot. I'm happy with the difference. The weight difference is very noticeable. I am not using the dampener with the black plate because it had so much more flex, I figure I'd go without it for some "clacks" while the teal plate gives the "thocks."

Perhaps "thick" was not the best descriptor, it is more the weight difference. I don't want to take these apart for science quite yet, though.

since it was painted, maybe one of your alu plate is actually a brass plate. hahahha

Another cool find from zFrontier of someone modding their PCB to have a 4x LED on the top left key like the Think6.5. https://www.zfrontier.com/app/flow/21612

Anyone know where one could buy PCB with 4 LEDs from?

Anyone here running into issues with their board? Didn't know where to post about it. I am getting two different key inputs when I actuate anything on the 12th and 13th column of the board. For example if I press the left bracket key "[" I get both brackets and if press the right bracket key "]" I'll also get both brackets.

Examples of the inputs are:
[][][][]
-=-=-=-=-=-=

I am using the 7u hot-swap board. I already updated the board with the hex file provided on the thread.

Any help is appreciated.

i was finally able to build my key65 last night. coming from a kbd75, i was blown away by how good a keyboard can sound and feel.

@spring4k also had some troubles, getting the split backspace to work, but managed to fix it eventually, by soldering in a small cable, from the top to the bottom pad. filling it up, as described by senter, didn't really work out for me, or more likely, my soldering skills ;-)

@zeldris23 flash the "via" qmk layout and you can remap the keys on the fly with the corresponding software

I reprogrammed the board by downloading the correct json file, going to https://kbfirmware.com/ and uploading the json there. Then I remapped the keys I wanted on that website, hit compile after I was done to download the hex file, then use qmk to flash my board.

You need to download the hex file from caniusevia, flash it using qmk. Run VIA and it will be detected.

Did you figure out how to use VIA?
Is there a step by step instruction on how to do this?
I just use QMK to flash my boards, but want to port to VIA since I heard it's super convinient

It was pretty straightforward.

I downloaded the hex file for my PCB from the caniusevia.com webpage and flashed it to the board using QMK toolbox. Since it was my first time, i had to install all of the keyboard drivers but it worked without any issues. After the flash, I unplugged and replugged the board and it was detected by VIA to configure. Hope that helps.

The only thing that disappoints me is the split backspace issue

I thickened the switch pin with solder lead to be sure it will made contact on top the top solder pad. Once soldered at the bottom, Hoping the leads on the pin with soften and will also directly soldered on top solder pad. But it wont happen.

End key functional maybe 30% because most of the time, it failed. I dont want to keep opening the case as it may ruined the threads or reheating that may ruin the solder pads.

While using jumper will make it work, but it shouldnt be the best option since this is a brand new pcb. They overlook it  :(

Ported my hotswap PCB to VIA, it was super simple.
When I first started VIA, all the factory default keys showed up, and changing the keymaps was really simple.

However, when I go to load the JSON file provided by Senter on the first page, it says "Could not load file: invalid data"
I wanted to load the JSON to see what the layout for the lighting buttons were.

Right now, the only thing I can do for the lighting is turn them on and off, and adjust brightness.
I also tried assigning the other keys under "QMK LIGHTING" and non of them really do anything.

Mine looks exactly like the picture Ipse posted on page 26, and dont know how to change the lighting... lol

If anyone knows how to assign perkey lighting, or knows how to toggle backlight modes, please let me know.

Did you try using the hex file from the via webpage? It was peer reviewed and should have this functionality working.
