[MOD]Recessing Space mounts
« on: Sat, 27 July 2013, 21:15:14 »
Mod showing how to lower the an OEM space profile to match cherry profile(or close enough)
How to do it?
I used a nail cutter & some files to slowly cut away at the mounts to lower recess the mount a bit more.

BEFORE (same height as the key I modded)

AFTER

WHOLE PROFILE

POTATO hack picture

Another potato hack pic.

I'm sure someone with a desk vice and a dremel could do a nicer looking job. I guess this is more of a proof of concept xD
(I do have a dremel but was too lazy to pull it out

I'm sure you could also file on the stem of the switches and stab inserts to go even lower.

That wouldn't work.

I don't mean solely. I mean in conjunction with your suggestion, to get them a bit lower (that is, if the stem of the switches and stabilizers is hitting the top of the inside of the hole they insert into).

before you do that make sure the keycap doesn't hit the plate. :)
