Cognitive distortions are patterns of thought, typically automatic and unconscious, that cause an inaccurate, negative view of situations, people, and/or events. These include things like jumping to conclusions; black-and-white thinking; negative mental filtering; overgeneralizing; mindreading (incorrectly believing we know what others are thinking, what their motives are); and emotional reasoning (believing that if we are feeling something, or if what we are thinking is associated with a strong emotion, it must be true).

Now that this topic has been revived I'd like to add that I've really been getting into ethereal techno the last half year or so. I also listen to other techno and electro types, but this ethereal stuff is really vibing with me. Excellent for "sessions", as well.

I have been on a big Americana kick.

Jeffrey Martin, Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers.

That and blink-182. Always on blink-182 kick.

IN THE WHITE ROOOM WITH BLACK CURTAINS, NEAR THE STATION!
Love listening to this, makes me think of Jojo, even though I don't think there's ever been a stand named after it (Besides Vanilla Ice and Cream from Part 3, but nothing specifically this)
One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen, Sixteen, Seventeen, Eighteen, Nineteen, Twenty... Yeah that seems about right.

I used to love them, but their new stuff is extremely hit and miss. Loved The Now Now, the first half of song machine was great (Second half not so much), and I haven't had time to sit down with Cracker Island, but the title track was great, new gold not so much.

I like the zoetrope (or whatever its called) on cracker island but other than that it can easily be considered as gorillaz's worst

Not surprising. I love that album, especially because proceeds for the sales of it went to support an endangered tree native to Australia. But you probably knew that

This song is way better than it should be, and what I was anticipating. I definitely wasn't expecting the key change toward the end. :thumb:

I'd never heard of the band before. I clicked on their next video (Riots) and it seriously gave me chills. There were some fantastic visual sequences and it actually told a story.

Listening to Since I Left You by The Avalanches a lot recently. Really enjoy the entire album but I think A Different Feeling maybe my favourite song on it.

The Avalanches are hit or miss with me. I love a few of their songs—namely, Because I'm Me and Since I Left You—but a lot of them sound like old Daft Punk. Their videos are awesome, though.  :thumb:

The Avalanches used to be quite hit or miss when I first listened to Since I left You, but it really grew on me. I agree with the music videos, they are all so creative and just fun to watch, my favourite is definitely Frontier Psychiatrist.

This song hits different after finishing the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series. Looks like the guy in the ship is suffering from cyberpsychosis. I imagine that cityscape is what William Gibson's The Sprawl looks like.

Sounds nice :)
I've used to listen metal music my whole life, just stopped when real life started (family etc) 20 years ago.
My of my favourite ones was Samael ("Black Trip", amazing) - do you know this one? :)
All stuff like Sepultura, Slayer, Samael, Tiamat. Good old 90s :D

Never liked death metal, cause couldn't understand what they were singing and music wasn't really... melodic, just chaos, like hardcore jazz :D But liked melodic version. Not sure which kind would it be - melodic black or melodic death? Samael?

Also, one of the last bands I used to listen was In Flames - would that one be melodic death? Loved their "Cloud Connected", or "Trigger" songs.
