THANKS!

Interessted in 1 fullsize, 1 TKL and if you end up making 60% I would be interessted in two of those as well. Depends on the final prize though.

Wristwrest matching some of the round4 sets would be really cool, like black/grey for the dolce, White and blue for the retro or black and orange.

Interested in the TKL.

I agree that the best positioning for the logo would be on the lower right corner of the rest.

Not too fussed about the colours, but the safe bet would be black leather with whatever stitching. Could do GH colours and use orange thread, but that wouldn't match many boards. Personally I think the idea of navy leather + white stitching would look great.

This is a great idea - interested in how it will price!

My signature hasn't changed since 2012. I should really update it.

Interested in a white one with red stiching, TKL size.  Position of the logo should be front right like Ducky below (I believe Filco's logo is in the same location).
Show Image

Roger that on the positioning of the logo.
2ndly, for red stiching , we will have to base on what majority of the people prefer before we have a go.
I will most likely let this run for the next 2-4 days and gather more information before finalising on the color of thread each different color wrist rest.

Interested in a wrist rest for 104 keyboards  :))

Any Particular color or threading preferred?

I'm interested in two, a 104 and a tenless.

Black with red stitching and white with a baby blue or orange would look cool

Noted, as mentioned to reaper on the first reply, the finalise combination of leather and stiching combination will be out base on the number of request from people who express interest in this thread.

I'm in for a full size white, with whatever stitching. Maybe orange....

Roger, Your prototype are about done .

I'm In for a 104 keyboard.
Would like to know EXACT pricing and what the total would be each wrist rest + shipping.

I would want a black pad with black threading.. Is It mandatory to have the "Geek Hack" stamped onto the wrist pad?

THANKS!

Firstly, since this is a Geekhack Wrist Rest, it would be best to have it on every single wrist rest after all we're part of the Geekhack family isn't it =D

I would not be able to address to you the confirmed shipping cost yet as shipping charges are base on weight. As of now we do not have a confirmed figure yet of the number of pieces we will be doing.

How about custom threading? And possibly free shipping base on the numbers ordered? :D

Oh and I want a 60%

Hi Elton5354,

Chances are no custom threading as factory will be producing in bulk instead of doing it piece by piece. Free shipping will be unlikely, but godly prices will tempt you still =D.

I will see if we need a MOQ to make the 60% . Would be good if someone can provide me with the dimensions for the 60% wrist rest .

I'd be after a 60%. Black leather and white stitching.

Roger

Any particular color leather you are looking for and threading that goes with the leather color?

Noted with thanks.

Interested in a black 104 with red or orange stitching.  Agree that the logo should be in the lower right corner of the pad.

Personally, I'd size it so the characters were sized to match a keycap face plus ascenders and descenders.

OTOH, I think it would look good -- and nicely professional -- with an imprint to match the current website logo.

Since it sounds like we won't be to do too many color combinations, I would like at least one option that is very neutral and will look good with any board like black leather with black stitching.

Personally I would also be very interessted in one with white leather and if possible blue stitching but another color stitching would be fine too. But I would probably buy other color combinations as well if thats what we end up going with.

I'd be interested if the price is reasonable. My preference would be to get one as long as possible (104+), because I always end up shifting the pad for both keyboard and mouse use.

The initial logo and placement look nice. The only thing I'd be concerned about is if it would wear down too quickly.

FWIW I've already got one wrist rest that's perfect... an old Belkin ErgoPad Premiere (the only thing from Belkin I ever liked). It is flat foam rubber with an equally thick layer of gel underneath, and a plastic base underneath. After 12 or 13 years its starting to wear out. I don't like gel-only rests.

Please remember that when these are produced and if the makers want $70+ on their product then the QUALITY has to be up there like Filco Palm Rests.

I've got two already and they are near as perfect as palm rests could be.  Made out of Genuine Leather, absolutely no flex and weigh in quite a bit.  So if you are dealing with Chinese Manufacturers make them understand that the higher the price tag then the Quality has to really be there.

Also pre-production prototypes need to be sent and because the op who started this Group Buy will be in receivership, then he/she needs to provide detailed photos, examination of the rests before it progresses any further.

Add my name to the list for a 60% wrist rest. It all depends on the pricing for me.

i'd be interested in the same color scheme as reaper:
TKL White Base, Red Stitching

and i agree with Elrick, if this sucker is $20 bucks or so, i won't be really picky about the quality
But if we're talking 50-70, it better be the same firmness and durability as my Filco ones lol

Black 104 with blue stitching would be nice.

The price would have to be reasonable though as I can imagine shipping to the UK could cost a bit and customs may charge too.

I don't understand this:

Quote
Material for the wrist rest will be synthetic leather.

Genuine Leather is available for Black color only.

Does it mean that there is genuine leather available (but only in black colour) or you can only choose the "non-genuine" leather from any of the colours mentioned?

Yeah some people are just to loyal to Geek Hack!

So, why are you here then?

Loyalty has nothing to do with it.  He chose Orange and Charcoal because it's a good colour match and it roughly resembles this Forum's Logo.... go figure.  There is still negative feedback from other's here about this choice.  Believe it or not, you still have some here who hate this place........

If he wants to put the name "Geekhack" onto the wrist rests then he should look at giving some money over to mkawa as a measure of thanks for using the name on a product.  It's only fair.

I made this for fun.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmJnoAaokKYxdEVkdDNoQ19pMmdneHMwaEIxQzdtX2c

I have a question..
Not really related to this thread BUT It might serve a purpose..

(Small box that's about half a pound In weight)
USPS First Class International Mail $4-5 ($7'ish with Insurance + Tracking)
USPS Priority Mail (International) $12.99 ($14.50'ish with Insurance + Tracking)

My pricing above MIGHT be wrong so correct me If I'm wrong, So which Is the better route to take?
I find that USPS First Class Is just as fast as Priority? In regards to me receiving something shipped via First Class Is 1.5-2 weeks and Priority Mail says It's 6-10 business days according to the site Is basically 1-2 weeks also.

Thanks
Thanks!

The initial packaging for these wrist rest used are barter paper, which do not look as glam , currently i am getting them to make cardboard boxes to fit this wrist rest which will be more protective and looks better when everyone receives it, will only cost likely cents to make one.

Can anyone decide the dimension of how huge the logo should be?

Also, i would need someone to mock up a clear image of that font to be submitted to moulding factory.

Will finalise everything when I start up the official group buy thread, I will negotiate for a better price. Also, I need the dimension of the wrist rest for 60% size. Factory ain't know the dimension unless provided.

I will need someone to mock up the geekhack fonts as well into JPG or .doc for them to process.

Volunteer for the distribution of wrist rest in CONUS/Eu.

Without the above the group buy will be delayed.

For dimensions would it be the same but length made for a poker? I think there should be measurements for that someone has on hand. edit^guess so

As for Canadian buyers, will they be shipped direct or do we need a Canadian distributor as well?

I just bought a whole keyboard from a certified Canadian Seller off Ebay and he charged me only $15.00USD, hence I'm starting to love Canadians AGAIN.

I think the "giving back" part Is that It's mandatory to get the logo stamped on all the wrist pads In honor of geek hack!

one can say its profiting off the geekhack name.
Obviously for us GH'ers, we feel a special tie with Geekhack merchandise/branding (GH caps for example)
I do know previously people have asked iMav for permission to use GH, as a courtesy i guess.
