Which pins for an IBM Model F AT and Pro Micro?
« on: Wed, 16 May 2018, 09:13:22 »
I'm trying to convert my Model F AT to USB and remap for ANSI. I got the Pro Micro and using the diagram here https://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/how-to-use-a-pro-micro-as-a-cheap-controller-converter-like-soarer-s-t8448.html I soldered 4 wires to it in the correct spots.

I tried to figure out which pins but I think I messed up. I already took the 5 pin connector off the end of the cord that goes into the board.  So the serial connector just goes to 5 separate connectors.

And I've actually cut them off so right now the serial goes to nothing.

The Pro Micro has 4 wires soldered to it, GRD, 5v, data and clock.

I can't find anywhere that says what 4 pins on the keyboards 30 or however many, should be used.

Anyone know?

If you still have the head of the cable, you can use a multimeter to determine which pin is associated with which wire.

I don't know whether there is enough detail here to help you:

"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

I have the head of the cable but the other end that connects to the keyboard is just separate wires and I have no idea which of the wires went into what hole on the connector.

EDIT: I just noticed the colors on the connector picture.

Using that, this picture https://camo.githubusercontent.com/cb0dddff1211614ca31ede8750dac89c72ac9445/68747470733a2f2f6661726d352e737461746963666c69636b722e636f6d2f343235322f33353233393431393934315f326266313331373333625f7a5f642e6a7067 and the Teensy layout, I think I have them in the right spots!

Never trust colors!

I'm not really trusting colors. I'm following the wires from the teensy to the board pins in the picture I linked.

If it's not right, I don't really have another way.
