That's cool :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Orient Star diver or the dressier ones? I prefer Orient dressier watches, as the divers have this old school look that doesn't suit my style (they do look great though, especially with the deep blue sunburst dial).

New to me Blumo is running -1s/8h off the wrist dial up, and -2s/12h on the wrist. Not bad :)

I've got one of the dressier one: pink gold (PVD plated)... A beauty IMHO. But I wear my Submariner more often.

Here's a picture of it (don't pay attention to the bike leather jacket and gloves)...69918-0

That's really nice. A shame you don't wear it more often :)

And it wasn't that expensive: go it a -30% on amazon.co.jp when the Yen was kinda low, so it was about 550 Euros / 750 USD. Which I think is a good price seen the quality of the dials etc. My model lacks the anti-reflective coating on the sapphire glass (the newer model has it if I'm not mistaken).

I could wear it more often but I already have a "daily" and... The Orient has a deployant clasp / buckle (is that how you call that in english?  it's "boucle déployante" in french) and the problem of these buckle when you're a programmer is that you do really damage the clasp by wearing it all day long: it keeps touching the desk.  The PVD plating is supposed to be good, but there's a limit and I don't want to damage it too much: I did already damage the buckle a bit.

It's the same reason I did put a NATO strap on my diver: otherwise I'm damaging the diver's deployant clasp. And a NATO strap is $20 or so so I can afford to change it once in a while  :)

For me, it really isn't about the price, but giving some loving to all your watches.
Ahh, those coated deployant clasps. Stainless ones are easy enough to clean up. I just give it a few light drags with 3m sanding sponges (ultra-fine, ~320grit) and most of the light scratches comes out. I'll go over it with some polish if I took too much sheen off the buckle.

Rolex Submariner (model 14060M,  non-COSC, from 2005 or 2006: not too sure anymore) on a NATO strap... Picture taken close to its HHKB Pro JP buddy (as I'm wearing that watch every single day and all day long and as I'm a software dev, these two spend a lot of time together)  :D

(pictured taken using a cheap non-reflex camera, so they both look like crap)

^It'll most likely keep going for awhile. However, after so many years, there will be a ton of tiny metal shavings and particles suspended in the lube. If the watch is a memento or heirloom worthy, it is probably a good idea to get it serviced. Otherwise, I am a use it until it die type of guy as well, especially my Japanese mass produced watches. Spare parts and movements are plentiful. For the most part, it is cheaper to swap movement than to service them.

Apparently there are yellow and red versions of this watch now. I think the orange one looks better:

@ neunelfer: I like those FF homage. I can't bring myself to get a dive style watch.

Just random talks: My GW-A1100R still have not synced a single time. However, it is still running exactly to time.is. No big deal if it can't sync. G-9000... Still to the second accurate. If this rate continues, it'll be <1second off for the year.

It's no Bell & Ross, but it's a helluva lot cheaper and the aesthetic is similar, so I'm happy.

Wanting to get a new strap, but for some reason they chose to use 23mm instead of something more common like 22 or 24. I've heard 24mm NATO straps fit fine on 23mm tho, so I'll probably give that a go.

Haven't posted my watches in awhile, so here is one.

74259-0
I hate the nickname for this one so I won't mention it.
Sapphire crystal on a Seiko diver, MM300 clasp, 44mm diameter without crown protrusions, textured dial, unique hands, TiCN bezel, great looking 3 piece oyster style bracelet with solid end links, etc.

Only bad thing I'll say about it is the mickey mouse ears like long lugs (56mm lug to lug, barely fit my wrist). Basically no choices in getting after market replacement bracelet, at least the stock bracelet is made of win. It will look weird on straps as well. NATO/Zulu may be the only thing that will look remotely OK on this.

PS, lazy at werk pix.

I know what you mean. Though I usually just use my G-Shocks as beaters. They were made for that. I don't baby my watches too much though.

You know you're a WIS when you got same watches in multiple color schemes ;o I like the red hand Sportura Diver more.
blumo demonstrating the awesomeness of MM300 clasp. I like it because it is nice, but the stupid titanium bits do scratch too easily.
Edit: PS, the lume is weak sauce on the Sporturas. One of the worst on divers I own.

My only chrono is really lame compared to the helmet ;o~

Good things:
Black and orange!
Orange lume that glows orange, and is UV reactive
Alarm (and double as 2nd time zone if you don't use the alarm).
Shiny bezel and domed crystal
8month power reserve.
