SA spacebar on mx Blue

SO i finally have a complete Hack'd geeks after not receiving the 6.2u spacebar in the original set. I ended up having to order one from Signigature Plastics for ~$21AUD which kinda sucks but i'm happy the set is finally complete.

I have it on my KBT keyboard with mx blues but the spacebar does not seem to return all the way up to the top after depression. I think due to how heavy the new spacebar is compared to the stock one.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I tried taking spring under my Realforce spacebar and putting it under the blue switch but i think its too light and doesn't really help much.

Replace the spring on your switch with something heavier.
You will need a soldering iron though.

This is the exact frustration I had after installing my Signature Plastics SA Symbiosis keyset on mx Clears. The spacebar would return IF you bottomed out the switch, but if you were gentle with your space keystrokes, the switch would not fully return. I ended up selling the set as I don't have enough experience soldering to feel comfortable desoldering the LED. OP if you do end up going through with the desoldering, would you mind updating us on how it goes?

I have the same problem on my Ducky with MX blues and MX green on the space bar.

Kinda makes the set unusable, although the Cherry stabilisers might be a contributing factor as well.

Sounds like you all have some sticking stabilisers. The switch on it's own can definitely return the spacebar to the top, all MX switches can do that with an SA spacebar, so I don't think modding / replacing switches is the way to go, but rather checking / adjusting / lubing your stabilisers.

All i have is some wd40. I will try dab a bit of that on the stabs and see if that makes a difference. Will report back in a couple of days.

You can find this grease at any autoparts store for >$5. Give the grease a try, if it works Hooray! If not, you may have to proceed with swapping springs or settling for a non-SA spacebar.

Hmm definitely worth a try. I'll head down to the shops tomorrow to see if that is available. I definitely want to try exhaust all my other options before desoldering the switch and changing the spring.

Yeah WD40 will erode plastic, definitely go with silicon based grease or white lithium grease.

I have heard of some spacebars having slightly different stem spacing, but all my Cherry stab boards take all my SA sets fine. The SA spacebar is symmetrical so you can also try flipping it to see if that helps. If flipping and lubing don't help, see if you can measure the stem spacing really accurately somehow. If it's faulty SP may be willing to replace it for you.
