Title: Custom SA Keycaps
Post by: Vortex88 on Sat, 02 November 2019, 15:03:21
Hey guys, I'm kind of new to the whole keyboard building thing. Do you guys know of any websites where you can get custom SA key caps? I've see a couple of sites now that allow you to customize the colors, fonts, etc. for key caps, but they usually do not specify what the materials the key caps are made of, how the fonts are etched, and what profile they are.

Ideally, I'm looking for caps with an SA profile that are either double shot or die-sub ABS plastic. Is there anywhere I can customize colors for a set like this without having to pick from a predetermined theme, or is this too specific? Options seem pretty limited in the custom keyboard scene.

Not really, I believe Signature Plastics will do one off sets but the prices are astronomical.

Yup, I can confirm SP prices. I was looking for 7bit SA Black keycaps and I'm having a hard time finding them. I don't even need the whole set, and they quoted me at $750. Just for added context, I was looking for Modifers, Numpad, spacebar, ISO Enter key

Yep, I confirm - custom one off SA set would be around $950.

I was quoted "$800 for standard legends, and customs at $50 each".

Heartbroken, especially since I don't think I have a set/layout which would be sufficiently attractive for a group buy.
