I'm sure Gateron keycaps would work just fine for Gateron switches.

The new gateron switches (and the ones on massdrop) use the clear tops pioneered in zealios. They don't have issues with clipping on caps

(source: the zealio tops on my gateron yellows, and the fact that zeal said in the original GB for zealios that new gateron switches would have the new tops.)

Are any of the blank sets' colors comparable to modern Cherry "light grey" (e.g. on current g80-3000)?

Beige and light grey here seem almost identical to classic Cherry beige/cream. White seems to be too.... well white

Kinda sad, I really need modern Cherry "light grey".

The CMY pic shows that it comes with 1u Cyan and Magenta keys. But does RGB come with 1u Red and Blue keys? The pic doesn't have them.

The TaoBao link says the same, so I'm assuming the CMYW comes with more keys.

1800 layout boards need some extra keys in different profiles. Also useful if you have a 75% board for that R1 Del.
