I just bought a bunch of MX Black switches and I'm a little concerned. I have a switch that binds when I press down on it, solder on the legs, bent legs, and different logos. This leads me to believe they're desoldered from old boards. I was under the impression I was buying new switches. I think the description on the switch page (http://techkeys.us/collections/accessories/products/keyboard-switches) is misleading. Is there anyway that description can be fixed? And is it possible for me to get a refund on these switches?

Top switch has just the three cherry Cherry Corp Logo. Bottom switch has the three cherry + leaf Cherry Corp logo.

Bent pin and solder on the MX Black that I just bought. A brand new MX white is on top, I'm using this as a comparison.

I had someone else's Blues in my possession from the same source, and they were also in the same condition: all had solder on the pins, some pins were twisted/bent from desoldering. That did not bother me too much, based on the low price, but most of the switches did not click properly (either no click or the click was augmented). Some switch stems did not move freely in the housing and would stick a bit.
It would be nice to put it on the sale page description that these switches are not new or else some other way to describe their exact condition.

Same here, two different logos and solder on the pins(top of one of the switches is pretty badly scratched as well). I am not too bothered because I only got two and didn't have any use for them but if I had gotten a whole boards worth I would be pretty upset.

Please PM me for support - I will be overly accommodating since I understand there are certainly some quality issues here.

So are used switches being sold?
-
If there is solder on the legs its 99% chance its used, unless for some bizarre reason someone felt like tinning the legs. The logo with the bigger font is typically, but not always, seen on vintage blacks. You should be able to find some more info in this thread (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=38921.0).

Yes. For now it seems to be the case.
In related news i3oilermaker refunded me and is working on a fix so I consider this a case of odd products and good customer service. I hope that TechKeys will get this fixed soon.

Oh my God, i was bought 300pcs Black switchs from Techkey 1 month ago, i think that Cherry black new switch :(
now, i still wait my switch arrive to check this problem >.<

I was assured by the manufacturer that the switches are new, and the tinning on the leads was to avoid oxidation.
I'm not sure I fully believe them, so I will be overly accommodating to anyone who is unhappy with their purchase.

So the manufacturer of the cherry labeled switches isn't Cherry Corp?
