Just to make sure I know what I'm looking at: the W at the end of the model number means that these are all PCB-mount switches, right?

As for the J/D, I'm less familiar--according to documentation, these are for jumper wires or diodes; what purposes do these serve?

jumper wires server couple purposes. 1: solder tie down of the other half of the switch, 2: PCB jumper for single layer boards where you need to hop over a trace to complete your matrix,

diodes can do the same and of course participate as part of the matrix for anti-ghosting

of course both can be easily removed by opening up the switch housing.

Yeah, the reds have diodes, the rest have jumpers. As long as he's stating the correct part numbers for what he has on hand, which I would expect

Sorry, noob here, what does that mean ? A diode is included on the mx reds ? Can I still add a diode on the others (I guess so...) ?

From what I can tell neither my poker or my filco have diodes.

Diodes will help give NKRO if the controller supports it?

Edit: After actually having another look in my poker, I guess it doesn't have diodes in the switches because they are soldered onto the underside of the PCB.

If you are putting the switches in a keyboard with diodes in the switch, it'll fit great. If not, you'll have to pull the diodes out, which will take a little time.

DIY keyboards like the ergoDOX/phantom do not have diodes in the switch, so you'd have to pull them out and solder them next to it.

Keyboards without NKRO sometimes have a jumper. I do not know if a diode will work here. (Since it drops the voltage, and might de reverse from the normal scanning direction.)

You'll have to trim the legs to get them to fit in your (plate mounted) DAS (If it's a Gen3 or later, the DAS II is a PCB-mounted cherry). Desoldering and removing the switches is a little harder for plate mount, as you need to desolder the switch, then compress the top and bottom to remove it. It took me a few tries, but I got it pretty quick.

I don't know about this GB, but the poker uses PCB-mounted keyswitches. To swap them out fully, you'd have to desolder them, but an easier way is to just open the switches and change the stems/springs

The stems and springs are the same but if you were to de solder the default switches and fit them in it will not, as PCB Mounted switches have an extra (leg) pin that the PCB do not have a placement for it.

I am sorry to say that i am unable to get any more clears as Cherry themselves have that tons of orders which leads current orders of switches to be ready only in 1st quarter next year, 2014.
