Hi to you all guys,

Recently I pre-order a Mekanisk Klippe TR4 Ultramarine but I'm very indecisive which keycaps to use in it.
I know it is a taste thing but I really would like to see some of your blue keyboards and your opinion on this renders below.

Thanks in advance and wish you all the best.

I like the nautilus but the Dasher looks damn good zslane, with the mouse combination and all. What keyboard case is that?

Today I pre-order the gmk deep navy so I'm aming to something like this but 60%, not 65%.

If you can deal without traditional legends, all of the pictures I've seen of GMK dots on a blue board have looked quite good.

Hum I like it but I not sure if I could use it on daily basis...
What do you think biothermal?

You don't have to have blue caps to compliment a blue case IMHO. On my night blue (I believe that was the color name) Noxary T60 I've been rocking GMK Oblivion V2 Git base with Hagoromo alphas & really like how they go together.

Then to further my point I ended up throwing GMK Olive on to my red e6.5 & really like how that looks together even though it's a counterintuitive combo.

Of course looks are very subjective & preferences will vary from person to person, but don't be afraid to experiment with color combos! Anyways, I saw you got in the GMK Deep Navy GB so you'll be covered by that. I think it should match really nice with Leandre's Ultramarine color!

Hey I like it. Then again I like minimalism all around. As Rob said above, you definitely aren't constrained to matching the board to the color of the keycaps, some contrasting sets would most likely look great as well.

That night blue case is insane! Blue is my partner in crime.
I understand your point. In the end of the day its all about preference but there are some keyboards, like yours, that are breath taking.

Can you share the other components of your builds?

Thanks for your time showing both of your keyboards.

You are totally rigth. The reason I created this post was exactly this, to get other people perspective and to be able to look at it from another perspective.

If the stars align, I hope to be able to show you my final result in Q1 2021.

What keyboard case is that?

It's a Norbauer NovaTouch aluminum case.

Solarized Dark also looks good on blue boards. A Google search will show it.

Hey!!

I bought the Klippe T 4 Ultramarine as well, and I was under the same dilemma.

I got two keycap sets to go with it :
1) Ducky Joker - For gaming (It's great for the 50$ price and I won't mind ruining them by mashing the keys in a year or two)
2) GMK Dolch 2 - The groupbuy is live right now, and it's 100$ (cheap for a GMK set). Black/Grey/White go well with any base color imo. You could also opt for the "mist" version of Dolch 2, as it has blue legends.

I'm new to this hobby so I don't comment much, but I'm quite proud of the theme I'm going for with my PC setup so rest assured that I put a lot of thought into this :D

PS:This is gonna be my first build and I already spent 450+ euros on it XD

Cheers!

Hi kotlkahn,

I'm new at this hobby as well but I already entered in 2 diffrent group buys. GMK Deep Navy early may and GMK Nord Today!
This is an awesome hobby but a really expensive one. I already spend a huge amount of money.

What other parts did you get to your build beyond the keycaps and case? Did you get the ultramarine durock x mekanisk stabs?

Cheers!

I did buy durock stabs but not the ultramarine ones sadly. I got the transparent ones (with gold wires).
For switches, I got novelkeys cream switches. Gonna lube them with krytox 205g0.

At the same time, I started modding my current keyboard (Anne Pro 2). I got a thick aluminium case for it, along with aliaqz 70g switches. I'll install hot swap sockets (millmax ones) on the board and it will serve as my experiment board (to try different switches). It will also help me learn the skills I need to build a keyboard well.

PS : Love your keycap choices.

Cheers!

I think this spacebar would make the Navy keyboard case more eye catching.

Hey there again!

Just in case you're still looking for matching keycaps, the GMK Seafarer set looks perfect to me for the Klippe Ultramarine!

Cheers!
