Upgrade for Logi MX Ergo?

My MX Ergo just died on me (buttons no longer working and I don't feel confident enough to solder new ones) and I would like something more sturdy - any trackballs available that have the same or a similar design & orientation? I honestly have never tried ambidextrous trackballs or index finger trackballs, just the usual logitech models for the last 25 years, starting with the Trackman Marble and normally I have been quite satisfied, just the last two models broke down rather quick, this model after 2.5 years.

Any ideas/suggestions?
