1 for me please. Also can you show the underside of the board?the final design for the base haven't decided yet. Now is blank :P

This is amazing (been following this project on Instagram). Would you consider adding ISO support. It doesn't need to be on the main plate (I can totally understand why people don't want that), I would pay extra for the separate plate. Thanks buddy, i will count ISO plate in for sure, but i won't do universal plate(for enter key). So it will be separate ISO plate and standard plate:)
Really looking forward to this!

+1+1 for brass weight in the back ;)have 3 options, haven't decided yet:
1, inside
2, go through the base like "T" shape
3, outside
personally, i prefer 1 or 3.
Love the 660 layout, following this project with tentative interest. Thanks
Interested. It’s option 3, I will do more renders for all the options.
Just a question, why the brass weight doesn't show up from the bottom?
Exterior weight in my opinion.Color options tbd when prototyping, I will update it after a while:)
Colour options?
I'll be honest, I'm not really sure I understand what the gaskets do. But! I'm always up for trying new and different things. I also really like this aesthetically and that it's a 65-ish with a seemingly standard layout. I would get one!Actually this mounting system can produce a better bottom sound when you typing, the rubber between plate and case will remove or reduce the unwanted vibrations. Instead of using TOP/Bottom mounting, I believed that this gasket mount can add a compression force on plate when we tight the screws. When user typing on the keyboard, the force will be decomposed to thousands of contact points on rubber stripe(instead of 6-8 screws point for top/bottom mounting system). It’s a tricky problem but I will try my best to make it happens.
Super interested in this! I love the look of the 660 layout, and have been curious about gasket mount boards. Also really liking the simple and clean case! Hope the price stays at your estimate, because that seems very doable ;)i will let IC running 2 weeks and make the final decision for the designs, after that send to factory do prototyping, confirm the color options at that time also. For price, try to control under that amount if possible:)
good luck:thumb: i will try it :)
gaskets are a ***** and a half

not sure....i will slow down and doing this one very carefully, probably running ic 2 weeks then i will make the final design, prototype it out and do some assembling video, typing test video and etc....Super interested in this! Interesting, front 2cm, rear 3.3cm
What are the heights of front and rear?
definitely IN!thanks my brother:)
Interested :thumb: and hope there will be an exterior weight.

@ilouis_07, do you know if this will support clueboard pcb or the original fc660m pcb?Yes it will fit.
Interested :thumb: and hope there will be an exterior weight.Yes I’m working on it right now.

Sure thing :)Interested :thumb: and hope there will be an exterior weight.
Looking forward to the GB
Me too, exterior weight!!
Using my first post to say I’m very interested.Yes, I used same dimensions as original FC660m does, so clueboard 660 will be np imo. Also it is good to have another existing PCB solution what if the default PCB broken after many years.
I’m also curious about what someone else asked... will there be compatibility with the clueboard or fc660 pcb’s?
Thanks and keep up the good work

redesigned weight to exterior and new IC form will coming soon.
If it supports the clueboard pcb I'll likely be in. I am heavily invested in QMK :)i already asked clueboard for the PCB dimension, definitely will fit their pcb if they provided info. Also i can do QMK pcb as well.

any thoughts of having a polycarb version of this? and also options of other materials for the plate like copper, stainless steel and so on.... :DPlate default will be brass. Stainless steel maybe cannot.

i don't want to make universal iso/ansi enter key plate, so i have done 2 versions.
Last row will be universal for different layout.
Lshift can be:2.25 or 1.25+1 or 1+1.25
Rshift can be: 2.25 or 1.25+1 or 1+1.25 as well.
for alps plate, i am still doing now, will have as well. PCB will support alps also.
The plates look good but can you remove the ansi enter cutout from the ISO plate?oops i updated wrong pic for iso.....i don't want to make universal iso/ansi enter key plate, so i have done 2 versions.

I think PC is the way to go. Brass just tarnishes easily and I don't see the point of having an all brass board, but that is just only my opinion. People may like it, but I love me some 66

Not sure if the IC form was abused initially or something but is really strange that PC has a 40% (unexpected i would say).
To be honest, if that's the only option, i pass. Not going to spend more than alu for "deluxe plastic".
Regarding your concern, full brass should be also PVD and also any brass would be covered to prevent oxidation.
Hopefully, there will be multiple optiona to make the top choices happy with it.

thanks for the answer @taropaste. YES, the main gb version will be:alum top and bottom case, Brass plate and weight. @KaosJ, based on what Louis said (I quoted above) and what was on the google form, I'm pretty sure he was just exploring what people might want for a special limited number of boards which he would raffle off (poly or full brass). The main group buy would be normal aluminum versions. I'm sure he'll clarify but I don't think there's any reason for concern :).
Also, I'm hyped for the potential of a poly version!!
I changed USB port to Type C, i think type C is the future :D maybe.Time for a new cable then
correct me if i am wrong. I tot, type c can allow more current flow in to the circuit, but pcb doesn't have rgb underglow. Type C consider more secure and it is reversible(user friendly:P).I changed USB port to Type C, i think type C is the future :D maybe.Time for a new cable then

Just curious, will there be an option to customise the design on the weight?you meant engraving some words on it?
Filled out the IC! How long until the GB do you think? If it's a month out I'm definitely in.GB SHOULD be next month. i can't confirm yet, i am still looking for prototyping factory now.

Yes, like what Gray Studio had for the COD67 (https://en.zfrontier.com/products/cod67csec).
Is Bluetooth still a possibility? Was really looking forward to it.sorry, no BT version PCB on this time.

I have to give you props man. From a design perspective you've nailed most every aspect in designing this case, the plate, the weight, the profile, keycap setting, I am very interested in your review of the prototype. Judging based on the number of views on this IC, you'll have no issue with selling. Good luck on the prototype!Thanks:333
Will you be stocking extra pcbs?
Having the type c port on the case makes it proprietary to the certain pcb you're using as no others are using type c

To be honest there are other type-c 65%.
Surely that's just a plus over the dinosaurs still using mini-usb in 2018 ;D

This isn't a 65% layout . The only 66% pcb that is readily available is the clueboard and that does not use usb c. It looks like the new clueboard low profile pcb is usb c but that one is also hotswap. I don't know if skully plans on releasing a non-hotswap with usb c anytime. Louis, I would honestly prefer the volcano remain compatible with the clueboard pcb. I don't have the most confidence in Percent's pcbs after what happened with the Canoe. I know there are some others who feel the same way but I don't know if that is the a lot of people. Maybe do another google form for usb c vs clueboard pcb compatibility? Lol.
I don't know ...obviously it's your decision. I'm just offering my opinion. By the way, thank you for being so responsive with your IC. You're doing a great job :thumb:.
Will you be stocking extra pcbs?Definitely will. Currently i am working closely with clueboard skully on the PCB also. Both of us want to provide high end quality product:D
Having the type c port on the case makes it proprietary to the certain pcb you're using as no others are using type c
I have the same opinion about Percent. The MAO Canoe I got had pcb issues (luckily I was able to fix it), and the quality of the finish is nothing compared to the China MAO version. I got the impression that they really don’t care about quality for int’l buyers as we won’t be able to chase them for issues.Actually they did all the free replacement when the pcb has problem (in new condition) in china domestic. But for international gb, i am not sure what is going on but sorry to heard that bro:(, PCB is the core for a keyboard and I'll give you a satisfactory answer in the end :)
That said, I’m avoiding Percent products like the plague, and honestly, will be a dealbreaker for me if they would be the pcb provider.
I don't know if it has already been asked but is the GB FCFS or a limited time frame? If it's the latter count me in!Would also like to know this. I was gonna buy a KOYU but this talked me out of it.
I don't know if it has already been asked but is the GB FCFS or a limited time frame? If it's the latter count me in!Hi, it will be open slots for default kit(alum body+brass plate and brass weight) and raffles for PC/Fully brass kits.
Liking this more and more as it has evolved. Tell me it won't be a limited run though. I don't want to fight for a spot of 1 of 50 or something like that.Haha, you don't need to fight, it is open slots for default kit.
Hmm in that case how about providing an option for the hotswap PCBs used for the clueboard LP? There's a split space version too. Will you be stocking extra pcbs?Definitely will. I will also say Yes! Hot swappability seems to be all the rage now, and for good reason.
But since OP doesn't agree, we probably won't be seeing it(at least in this version).
I guess there are many purists huh.😅

The subtle curve shouldn't make a difference. But I get OP's idea, it will be something like model M keyboards. Not sure how that will feel like to type on, but I think many people like the curve on the model M.
One thing to note, hopefully the curve is not too aggressive, as that will expose the switch if Cherry Profile keycaps are used. IMHO, a high profile case is preferred where the switches are concealed. Looks cleaner.😎

I would look perfect if you could match it up with the minimal curve the HHKB has. Would give it a more unique visual compared to the keyboards on the market right now. NGL, I didn't really notice that the HHKB had that very subtle curve, great idea!

It is very subtle though, I'll attach a picture to show you - and if the V66 ends up having the same curve it wouldn't be any issues tbh.Show Image(https://imgur.com/a/fUCive8)

I noticed in the pictures that the bottom row shows a 6u spacebar. Is this the final layout or will it support something more widespread like a 6.25u space?Or even 7u
I noticed in the pictures that the bottom row shows a 6u spacebar. Is this the final layout or will it support something more widespread like a 6.25u space?Hey! Since clueboard is my partner, so i just using clueboard 66% pcb to show all the compatible layouts.
I think I will try a 6u space bar with this board for the first time. The symmetry of the bottom row is amazing.Good luck finding any 6u stabs unless you're willing to make one.

God I'm so excited for this guy. Heavy, 66%, Gasket mount... I just hope that since the PCB will be from clueboard, that getting extras won't be hard. USB-C or Mini, do you think?USB C, this is customized version pcb done by clueboard. Because I have 3 LEDs here.

Is gasket mount better for a particular switch style? I want to pickup either a top mount or gasket mount board, but I haven’t owned either (only owned pcb-to-tray-mount boards so far). I’ll be building w zealios.

I think the gasket stands out with linears, not sure about tactiles. Could have a great effect to it but I can't speak on gasket's behalf.

I think the gasket stands out with linears, not sure about tactiles. Could have a great effect to it but I can't speak on gasket's behalf.
I would actually argue the opposite, conventional wisdom is that plates with more flex are better for tactile (like acrylic, fr4) while stiffer plates are better for linear (aluminum, brass, SS). This is because a bit of flex compliments the feeling of a tactile switch, whereas linears feel the most 'clean' when on a nice solid plate.
Since gasket mount introduces another level of flex/bounce (for lack of better words), conventional wisdom would probably side with tactiles working better on gasket mount.
But keep in mind that none of the above is universally relevant, and is always very subjective. For example, if you love to bottom out your switches, you don't want a SS plate because its way too rigid and will just hurt your fingers- therefore a bit of flex introduced by the gasket mounting could be welcome. But if you type lightly and never bottom out, you might want a more solid build.
And everything above this line is pretty much BS cause you like what you like. Try everything

Hey Louis, what you mean for universal ANSI? Ansi+all the layouts compatible?
If so the only difference between the 2 is the enter and shift, wouldn't be better to make a total standard ANSI (so not even 1 extra hole, aka the perfect plate) + A full universal (including ISO and all the layouts).

of course more holes means more space for noise to travel, but this last row IMO looks ok:)

For the PCB is skully using the hotswap version or the solder?solder version
The only thing keeping me from buying is the non-hot swap pcb, com'on....Clueboard might stock a hotswap version of the pcb seeing as that’s what the LP uses.
Dunno if this has been brought up already. But rubber tend to dry out. Or is that not a problem?Rubber should be not a problem.

Hot swap has advantages like: ez for user to assembled, ez to change the switch and etc.
Disadvantages: it’s fixed layout, pcb need to be fixed and etc.
I am interested in gasket mount 'keeb' ! It would be great to have case without those three LEDs. I think this case looks better without LEDs.
Is this high profile case? I wonder whether switches are visible or not.

I just got an FC660C and I love the layout plus I am always looking for the best sound in a board. I think this gasket mount will be the interesting. Is there any chance for a more lava red. I would imagin a deeper almost dark/black red. What type of switches would you think would work best with a gasket mounted pcb?

Maybe I should restart using split backspace, haha. Does look better than ANSI actuallyIt just seems ideal to me for when you don't have an F row. Otherwise you need to put the `~ or |\ key somewhere strange.

It'll mess you up for a day or so, but once you get used to not having to reach out for that backspace, it becomes so natural.
I may be a bit biased as someone who uses `~ every day, all day, but I can't go back to standard ANSI anymore. It just seems inefficient.
can I ask how tall the front edge of the case is, or has that not been finalised yet?I'm wondering about this as well. As much as I like gasket mount - I'm a bit worried about how tall the front looks.
It'll mess you up for a day or so, but once you get used to not having to reach out for that backspace, it becomes so natural.
How does split backspace not require reaching out? Regular backspace is one row up, but a bit closer - if you draw a circle from homing key "J" it becomes clearly visible. Also regular backspace is easier to hit because it's bigger and located in the corner, so you don't have to be so precise.
I'm not bashing split backspace, but I fail to see the "obvious" benefits.QuoteI may be a bit biased as someone who uses `~ every day, all day, but I can't go back to standard ANSI anymore. It just seems inefficient.
Yeah, usage pattern might play a big role here - I use `~ maybe once per day on the average, so I don't care about it being on another layer.
It'll mess you up for a day or so, but once you get used to not having to reach out for that backspace, it becomes so natural.
